First time Forest have won an away league match by more than 1 goal since beating Blackpool 4-1 in April 2022.

Against Newcastle of all teams.

Very impressive performance today and on that showing there's a lot to feel positive about.

Can't wait to take on Man United now and hopefully get the win our performance deserved earlier on this season.

Without a win today, we'd currently be sitting in the relegation zone but today's result and more importantly the performance went beyond the 3 points, it should instill huge belief in the manager's tactics and methods and that can only be good for the upcoming fixtures.

The monkey is off the back and the Man U and Brentford games suddenly don't hold the fear 1 win in 14 was beginning to engender.

Confident. 3 of our 4 wins came against fancied teams away and a team currently in the top 4. We have to view all remaining games as winnable. Wood has finally proven to be more than adequate cover for Taiwo, allaying our fears. Nuno has brought back a feel-good factor and seems tactically astute, professional, and likeable. Broadened coaching staff appointments feels important. With a few key additions (GK, RW, CF are priorities) and lots of outgoings in Jan, we'll have better team cohesion and more than enough in the bag to be comfortably safe and looking forward to further progression next season. For the rest of this season, hoping for 40 points and a nice little cup run.

I find it interesting that last season survival was built on the City Ground atmosphere and home form however we've lost the last 4 home games in a row.

Even under Cooper, Forest have looked much better away from home this season. 8 points have been picked up and it could have been more. Old Trafford springs to mind instantly. The only away performance that's been massively disappointing has been the implosion at Fulham. Liverpool and City were expected losses.

9 points taken at home.

This time last season....

11 points at home. 2 points away.

Another reason to feel positive? Having a more experienced team who doesn't just rely on the home crowd and isn't intimidated on the road?

I was surprised by the win and it was a good feeling, for sure. I'm hopeful that it's the start of something, rather than simply a reprieve.
That said, I'd just f***ing love us to beat United. There is so much I dislike about that team, no point listing it but finishing with a win against them would be fantastic.

I'm still sad about how things went with Steve and I'm a little surprised he's not released a statement but I also suspect that's out of respect for Nuno to be honest.

It's going to take a bit for me and see how we do in the window.

Probably his severance package included the terms 'keep your f***ing mouth shut' knowing our owner.

Pretty standard for Managerial contracts to have non-disclosure terms built in.
However, if the Athletic article was correct about Steve wanting to do the right thing and part on good terms is accurate, it seems unlikely that he’d choose to dish any dirt.

Here you - last season vs this up to the 19 game mark, with the cup wins scratched off:

We hit that run of form (aided by the cup games) after a similar run to our recent one. Let's hope we can do the same again this year...

(I feel like one of those games wasn't played at the date stated there - can anyone spot it?)

Bit apprehensive on the Utd game as it draws near. I hope we can put in a shift and add to our points tally.

Also pleased we have a 3 week league break. Regroup, and see what the early part of the January window brings.

The problem comparing the 2 seasons is that this time we’ve played every team once 9 at home 10 away, whereas last season includes Leicester twice the second home game we won and does not include Leeds away which we lost. There are also 10 home and 9 away.

If the Leeds game replaces Leicester we have exactly the same record both seasons won 4 drawn 5 = 17 points.
