We’re in a relegation battle due to the first 17 games of the season, yesterday was an improvement and we will be fine.

Nuno will bollock the defence for being incapable of marking someone and in time we will be much improved and stay up.

I also think we will match our away wins since promotion from now until May.

What?

How is Mendes going to help thin out the squad, that's the question?
As in sell players? I'm not 100% sure what his current role at the club is but he was a recruitment consultant at Forest and reportedly was more recently appointed to EM's transfer steering committee for Forest and Rio Ave.

So it's his job to sign and sell players right?

He's been a successful agent for several years prior too, so I assume he is good at it when he wants to be.

Is that what you were asking?

Only time will tell if he can deliver what Nuno and Forest need, but Nuno and he having worked well in the past would be a benefit to that you would think, which was my point.

Was he?

I'm asking specifically about how he is going to help sell players Forest current have in the squad who aren't his clients.

If he is acting as an agent for the club, this would suffice.

But I've never seen him involved in any outward moves for players other than his clients.

Tbh I doubt he ever had a business card claiming he was a consultant at Forest, but DT's recent article on the athletic describes his input as very similar. If you're more itk then I concede to your better information.

As for the rest, you could have just made that point originally so I'll leave you to it.

Absoute not propising I'm ITK.

I've read the DT article, not how I read it at all. I read it as Mendez bringing in his clients, as he had done previously. His final paragraph sums it up, suggesting business with him is one way.

the club will hope it has a more positive impact than the last time, when they were operating in the Championship, he was directing players their way

This whole discussion started as Gregor suggested Mendez would help out Nuno by thinning the squad.

As disappointing as this season has been so far, we're still in a situation where 'all' we need to do is equal the points of Luton, Burnley and SU over 20 games. Now I'm not taking that for granted, but if we can't achieve that we really don't deserve to stay up.

We're on a bad run and they have all improved lately, but that will change and I still think a point per game would see us safe. I also think we've been very unlucky in games lately... decisions and someone like Solanke being red hot... whereas I feel some of our competitors are getting the breaks. Hopefully form and fortune will even out.

Not disputing this in any way. Just, who'd have thought that we'd be posting comments like this at the start of the season.

Agree - and this has to be the minimum expectation. Surprised to see fans saying they would take 17th now.

Forest don’t need a central defender who can levitate (no, not in the manner of Dua Lipa either) but one who is at least a bit capable in the air would be nice.

The amount of goals conceded from crosses is ridiculous, and it is noticeable how opposing teams use that tactic because they know Forest are crap at clearing their lines.
Yep absolutely.

Also Brian Clough was forever yelling from the dugout time and time again "stop the crossers!"
