Nuno will be hamstrung by the same issues the previous manager had. Not addressing them is asking for trouble, especially given the owner is expecting top half. Either give the manager the tools to achieve that or stop throwing toys out the pram when it doesn't happen.

January is really important. Prospect of relegation is high.
Someone should pin this to the front of Marinakis' office door.

I don't think (Hope) Nuno will accept half the dross which Cooper has though. Cooper is clearly a Coach and happy to tow the line, primarily concentrating on his job and adapting to what others do in their roles which relate to that. Nuno however appears to have that streak of Billy in him, I love how pissed off he looked after the game yesterday, and will likely be a complete bellend to those above him if he gets skanked with wank. Not to mention be pushing for Mendes to hoof the dross we already have here out the door tighten the squad up.

With Mendes being besties with Nuno and likely to get first dibs on a lot of players he's connected with, I get the feeling Marinakis is about to come heavy under pressure from his own chosen ones to provide the players required for the step up he himself demands.

Time to "put up or shut up", as they say.

I think it's too early to don the life jackets.

Being the first game following Steve's sacking, my overall impression was that the mood was quite positive at the ground, and even remained so after the final whistle walking away from the CG and across Trent Bridge. Despite the defensive lapses, I thought the spirit and commitment of the players gave reason for optimism, particularly when NES can get working on defensive organisation and settle on his four or five - something that Steve struggled with for whatever reason.

I feel that the January window will be important in terms of us climbing the table.
How many players do you think we need in January,Otis?

Struggling to care through. Even if we stay up the pantomime of it not being good enough will continue. We'll never be happy with what we have here because of the lack of realism the club strives towards. You can't get away from it, either the club feels detached from reality and let's down good people or you jump on board with the nonsense and then get let down by the results.

Meh.
Well said - Spot on!!!

We have a soft centre at the moment defensively. If reinforcements come I think we’ll be fine.

Attacking wise though we’re in good shape, I believe last season we rarely scored more than one per game.

Woke up this morning feeling like I’ve been hit by a train. I think I burst a few blood vessels in the head yelling at the tv at 4am in the morning.

Just devastated for the players who put in a huge shift for little to no reward.

Heartbreaking. But I am confident we will be ok and we get on a good run once Nuno solves our defence. Well , I’m hoping anyway

Yep. Collective and individual defensive mistakes have cost us the five or six points that would see us relatively comfortable at the moment. Thinking that will magically change when Awoniyi is back is a bit delusional in my opinion.

Fortunately I think Nuno will see this and aim to fix it as a priority. I don’t know whether this comes on the training ground or in the transfer market. Probably a bit of both.

Still dont think I’ve ever been as angry with a ref nearly 24h after the game. Hope his turkey is rotten when he opens it tomorrow morning!
I’ve got a stinking hangover which he can also have the credit for!
Think the fans were great yesterday, although the ref making himself a focus for everyone’s anger helped.
Still think we’ll be ok - keeper and striker in Jan + clear out the dross loans etc.

I'll trust the manager with that, but I think that thinning-out the squad by the end of January will be almost as important in order to possibly accommodate a more commanding 'keeper, a bit more pace and mobility at the top-end, and a commanding centre-back (Nino?). Y And you Cloughie?

I feel a bit like I did last season when we lost against Bournemouth at home.

My twisted logic dictates that because I felt that on balance at that point that we would be relegated and we didn't, that it will be alright in the end somehow this time but I just feel a bit sort of bleurgh right now.

Hoping Nuno will get to the point of stopping us shipping goals quickly but feel a bit bad for the guy that he's taken the job with no real time to do real work on the training pitch in between games.

Forest don’t need a central defender who can levitate (no, not in the manner of Dua Lipa either) but one who is at least a bit capable in the air would be nice.

The amount of goals conceded from crosses is ridiculous, and it is noticeable how opposing teams use that tactic because they know Forest are crap at clearing their lines.

My mood is worry and excitement in both measures. Weird I know but Nuno played the formation I wanted yesterday which is good and actually made our attacking players look better. Nearly everyone was in their favoured position and was more comfortable. Origi being the only one who wasn’t.

There is a definite blueprint there and I’m still furious at the red card.

I think it's still within our means to stay up this season without having to rely on highly unlikely results against the top sides, but it'll be close and with fewer than 35 points.

Nuno showed he has an effective plan to get production out of Wood, at least at home, but he's still a biscuit risk so a striker is still a priority in Jan.
