Welcome to ForestForum! Registration is free, but by signing up, you agree to abide by the rules and policies outlined below. If you accept these terms, check the ‘I agree’ box and press the 'Complete Registration' button. If you do not agree, please return to the forum index.

ForestForum is a community, and we ask all members to respect the rules set by the community itself. While we encourage free speech, moderators may take action against members who abuse the forum facilities.

1. Responsibility for Content

• ForestForum ("we," "us," "our") is not responsible for user-generated content or accounts.
• The views expressed in user-generated content belong solely to their authors.

2. Age Requirement

• You must be at least 16 years old to use this forum.
• By registering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

3. Account and Network Use

• Using a VPN or other IP-obfuscation methods for malicious purposes will result in a ban.
• “Secondary” and “sleeper” accounts created for malicious activities will be banned.
• Attempts to impersonate another member or real person maliciously will result in disciplinary action.
• Re-registering to circumvent a previous ban is prohibited and will result in an extended ban period.

4. Prohibited Content & Conduct

We will not tolerate the following types of content or behavior:

• Personal abuse aimed at other members (retaliation is not a valid excuse).
• Hate speech, including posts that incite racial, sexual, or other forms of hatred.
• Violence or hooliganism, including promoting, inciting, or threatening violence (especially related to football).
• Explicit material or links to the same.
• Spamming or excessive, meaningless posting.
• Bypassing the swear filter, as it prevents issues for some users with firewalled access.
• Libelous comments, which could be considered defamatory under British law (more info).
• Unauthorized advertising.
• Posting unlawful content or engaging in any illegal activity.
• Any attempts to destabilize, disrupt, or slow down the forum or harm other users.
• Requesting or sharing links to unauthorized streams of football matches or other live events is strictly prohibited.

5. Forum Stability & Security

Any attempt to destabilize the forum—whether through manipulation, coordinated disruption, or deliberate interference—will result in an immediate and permanent ban.

6. Moderation & Enforcement

• Moderators may remove or modify any content at their discretion, with or without notice.
• Requests for content removal or modification will be handled at the moderators’ discretion.
• Users who violate these rules will be subject to disciplinary measures:
• Yellow Card: A warning status with restricted posting privileges. This will be lifted after a period of good behavior.
• Red Card: A temporary or permanent ban if serious or repeated violations occur.
• In some cases, immediate bans will be issued.
• Persistent offenders who repeatedly violate forum rules may be discouraged from posting, including through temporary restrictions or further moderation measures.
• If you see a post that concerns you, please use the "Report to Moderator" button.

7. Content Ownership & License

• You retain copyright over your content.
• By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, permanent, irrevocable, unlimited license to use, publish, or re-publish your content within the Service.

8. Forum Etiquette & Guidelines

(Not strict rules, but following these will improve the community experience.)

• Use descriptive thread titles to help others find relevant discussions.
• Avoid text-speak and poor grammar—posts should be readable and clear. (Serial offenders may be labeled as "Chavs" until they improve!)
• Post in the correct section and check for existing threads before starting a new one.
• When quoting articles or external content, provide credit and, if possible, a link to the original source. However, links to X (formerly Twitter) are not permitted.
• Show respect and courtesy towards other members.
• Away fans are welcome, but abusive behavior won’t be tolerated.

9. Policy Updates

• These terms may change at any time without notice.
• Continued use of the forum means you accept the latest version of the rules.

10. Account Closure

• If you do not agree with these terms, do not register or use the forum.
• To close your account, contact the moderation team.
