I think that I have no right to criticise Terry for his actions on a personal level simply because it is no buisness of mine.

However I feel though on a footballing level he should be stripped of the captaincy as he can't be seen as a leader anymore.

He shouldve been stripped after his racist comments to ledley king, and also carlos tevez amongst others. Its amazing he somehow got away with those things unscathed- whilst he has an affair and people go nuts.

Seriously, the guy is a complete tw** of the highest order. Hes a horrible, horrible man- but the truth is hes a great footballer and the england team will be alot weaker if hes not in it.

Personally I hope hes kicked out and the truth about him comes out. However, I think there'll be too much pressure to have him in the side to give us more of a chance to win the world cup.

Such is the crazy way the world works.

As much as the Daily Mail & other newspapers try to make out that Terry's behaviour has annoyed other members of the England squad, they have yet to offer any proof of this.

I find that in these sorts of situations that other people try their damnedest not to get involved even if it's in their best interest to do so.

My prediction is that Terry will be on the plane to S.A. while squad member Bridge will elect to miss out.

That said, it doesn't surprise me that Terry has shown himself to be a contemptable scumbag yet again.

Wayne Bridge in an England shrt worries me.

It's the usual build up to a World Cup in England. If it wasnt this the press would find another story to undermine our chances...

So John Terry being a :wanker: is the fault of the British Press? :nowink:

No but them digging up some moralising self-righteous story a few months before the world cup is. Last time it was Sven they systematically undermined.
Terry might be a wanker (so what? I'd rather have a winner with faults than some goody two shoes loser), but the English press are a bunch of traitorous *****.

:blahblah: :dan:

Do you not think they have a right to report freely, though?

Is it not their right to inform the public of something involving the national captain?

Isn't John Terry's private life private?

Do we really need to know, it's not exactly what i would call news.

But it is news, isn't it.

He's England captain and he has betrayed one of his best mates by shagging his wife, getting her pregnant and then forcing her into having an abortion.

All this while being married himself with two kids and then making the woman sign a confidentiality agreement in order to protect his reputation, sponsorship deals and image value.

Maybe not, but it shifts more papers than any war or disaster in a foreign country ever would.

Precisely, jeez i am so proud of the free press in our country.

Inexcusable actions, however its not something in my opinion that should prevent him from playing for the national team. Certainly I would imagine that the captaincy should be either be resigned or stripped, being England captain invloves a lot more than simply being a leader on the pitch, he has responsibilities off it which based on the past 12 months he has failed to uphold.

As a footballer he simply has to be on te plane to South Africa, with all due respect to Wayne Bridge I can't see too many people being dissapointed if he isn't wearing an England shirt this summer.

Shock horror, highly paid, wonderfully talented but essentially thick footballer, has the money and inclination to act like a stack yard dog, sniffing around females in season.

Girlfriends of footballers......not all by any means, but some very publicised affairs...kiss and tell etc....welcomes sniffing stack yard dog, then regrets the actions. Happens the world over, why bring football into it. Makes me laugh or very angry when people want footballers to be role models..............We are talking about testosterone filled young men with money to burn............girls and women who want to help light the fire.....

Terry's guilt was to try and use his money to influence the Law.

The fact that the FA haven't come out and directly backed him and instead decided to release a statement stating that Capello will make the decision regarding Terry's international future and Capello alone, is a little bit ominous for JT.

Listening to some press "man" this morning on the radio who believes kids will copy JT (the married ones I assume) insists he can not continue as captain.

As one point, he will have to do interviews and this matter will not go away. From this I take it, the "press" will not let it go away. If Terry was to meet fans either in passing or one be allowed to conduct an interview, I guess most if not all would be very interested in team selection, injuries, form and his thoughts on future opponents.

The press are the interested ones trying to think of a question more personal and invasive than the next guy. They are sports journalists and should attend the world cup as such.

And that press man will probably after finishing work, go to the pub, get pi**ed, and then go and meet his knock off for some 'therapy'.

No wonder my post count..
I cannot believe he got time off to 'save his marriage for valentines day'.

If I said that to my boss, I'd be out on my arse without thought.

f*** off, absolutely pathetic.

To a certain extent that's understandable and good management, no one is going to perform at their best, with a huge personal crisis bearing down on them. Billy Davies did basically the same with Nathon Tyson last Saturday.

N.B Years ago I employed a lad who, over the period I employed him his marriage started to suffer. Money troubles and extra marital stupidity. I ensured that he was fine financially and gave him time off to try and sort things out. Result of such action................Last summer We were guests at his third marriage . Which shows it didn't really help but has ensured gratitude and friendship ;D

Bored of all this around the clock John Terryvision. Because the fella tried to gag the press before it all came out, it looks as though they're taking their revenge. I couldn't care less about what a rich footballer gets up to in his own time, even less so his 'poor Mrs' who consoles herself in Dubai. Deary me.

Also, Terrygate. I hate that gate is added on to anything and everything if it's a scandal. (Which leads me back to Watergate, which really should've been Watergategate - thanks Mitchell and Webb! )
