While not the same issue, it is also not the same in magnitude as issues face by the people in Zimbabwe.
A country allowed to compete on sporting fields while people died at the hands of their leader.
It was suggested the national team be barred from events but mainly through money it was suggested sport should not be used to intervene in off field affairs.
Morals are so low yet so high.

Listening to some press "man" this morning on the radio who believes kids will copy JT (the married ones I assume) insists he can not continue as captain.

What, cry when they miss a penalty?!

Maybe he should resign the captaincy.

All captains should be upset at failure, not brush it off.

Sky News sources understands John Terry has been stripped of the England captaincy following allegations over his private life.

Terry's future as skipper of his country has been the subject of intense speculation ever since allegations he had an affair with England team-mate Wayne Bridge's ex-girlfriend.

The Chelsea star met with England coach Fabio Capello at Wembley on Friday afternoon to discuss his future as captain in the wake of the allegations.

The Football Association made it clear Capello alone will decide the Terry's fate and the Italian has decided to take the armband off the 29-year-old.

The news throws England's plans for the World Cup into disarray with Capello now forced to look for a new captain for this summer's tournament in South Africa.

Can't really see many other choices for captain than Rooney or maybe Lampard or Barry.

As long as it's not Ferdinand or Gerrard, which would be ridiculously hypocritical.

I reckon pinch-faced diving scumbag Gerrard will get it.

Bit of an overreaction if you ask me, after all, aren't central defenders supposed to fill any holes left by a fullback?

At least that's that then. Well done to the tabloids for forcing out the captain for off-field matters and unsettling the team and forcing open divisions within the squad in a World Cup year.

Capello will really have to earn his money now to rebuild the spirit in the squad.

I can't think of anyone in the first eleven other than Terry as Captain. He'll stick his head in where it hurts.

Rio best not get the captaincy.

He's got it and, as a result, we can kiss our World Cup hopes goodbye. Somebody who has such frequent lapses in concentration should never be a leader on the pitch, not to mention someone who missed a drugs test which suggests to me he had something to hide. Capello's dropped his first clanger and I'm disgusted that the media witch hunt has been a success.
