Reid has clearly learnt from Billy Davies.
Jamie Mackie running around like a lunatic defending from the front, pushing teams backwards higher up the pitch.
That's when we forced teams into mistakes and looked positive, with midfield players able to push on and score goals.
:tophat: we shouldn't mention that though.Somebody should have told Ulrika thats all you had to do......
Oof!Somebody should have told Ulrika thats all you had to do......
I hope it won't happen, but if the Williams / Andy Reid combination results in no more wins, strange team choices and poor football, will we just blame the embargo and injuries?
Kinda just makes me think Fawaz and his little group thought, how can we put a positive spin on sacking Freedman? Oh Andy Reid isn't doing nothing, we'll stick him as a coach even though he has no experience! That'll keep them quiet for a bit.
I'm pretty sure with all the bullshit and bollocks Forest fans make up about the club and players they could write an episode of Hollyoaks.
At least 3 of the team would need to be gay/bi and possibly one other trans. Two or three of the remainder would have to be murderers and there would have to be someone buried under a stand/ center spot or penalty spot. Everyone would have had everyone elses girlfriend / wife and at least one player would soon be finding out that they are not their childrens real dad....
This exactly. We tried pressing against Huddersfield and got wrecked. You build your style for the players you have nine out of ten times. Klopp at Liverpool is an exception but as you get better and better players, they are more versatile on how they can play. I'm sure he'll be moving players around in the summer to compliment his style.“I think there is a desire there to deliver the kind of football that the fans want," said Reid. "It would be good to have a bit of a go in the final stages of the season; to go and press teams and get the ball back higher up the pitch”.
This I have to see. Who exactly will be doing this pressing? You have to have mobile and athletic players to play that way. I don’t see that in our squad. Once you start chasing the ball you better have support behind or the opposition will pick you off.
This will also mean we will be defending higher up the pitch. If we do the defence will get exposed. Mills lacks pace, in fact all our defenders are better suited to playing deep and facing the ball. Any time the opposition have had a clear run at our defenders they have been found wanting. I’m willing to be proved wrong though. Time will tell.
Andy has a couple of badges and thinks he’s Pep. But I’m no fan of the pressing game. Someone should tell coaches on these courses that the game is about players not how to put on a training session.

Depends if you are desperately scrambling for every excuse under the sun to try and justify replacing Pearce with Freedman in order to save face.

Ward, Osborn, Cohen, Grant - 4 midfielders which could play that way to some degree.
Not sure it's that far fetched.
And David Vaughan as the playmaker.

For some reason, I imagine him with a Pirlo-esque beard...
