Meh indeed.

Rip the soul of the club out then the only way I'll get excited is if we're playing good football and winning football games on the regular.

Nuno has had 7 games and won 2. It hasn't been bad but it needs to be better before the response is anything other than meh.

It's the potential points deduction that has people uneasy. It's hard to be optimistic when 10 points could become 20 in the blink of an eye.

Forest giving PL a brown envelope to add points rather than deduct them is as good idea as any right now.

For the first time this season I'm feeling like it's more likely we go down than stay up, and I'm trying to reconfigure my brain to be ok with that so it doesn't bring me down too much.

It's almost more how feisty Luton are looking than Forest's form. Even if we only get a 6 point deduction (and I still think it won't be worse than that) that leaves us needing a lot of points to reach safety, which looks more like being mid-30s than 30 points now. Let's say it's 6 points, that leaves us on 14 - we'd need 21 points from 16 games to get to 35. Not impossible but needs quite an improvement.

We'd deserve relegation if Luton finish above us thanks to a mix of points deductions, hubristic recruitment and the revolving door of throwing decent staff under a bus.

If it happens like that I simply won't care. Forest will have earned it.

8 and 2 then. Was forgetting the Brentford game.

(I go by 90 minute results).

We've relied on a magnanimous benefactor to keep the club afloat for over 20 years knowing that they could lose interest/the means to do so at any moment, so I'm not paying too much heed to current off the field issues.

On the sporting side we've still got at least 8 games against sides that we've looked capable of beating / have beaten this season.

If we can keep MGW, Elanga and Taiwo mostly fit and a new keeper then I'd back us to win 6 of those 8 at least.

Do need that new keeper though.

This isn't true of the last three years.

Didn't we make a loss of over £30m in each of our last two seasons we have accounts for? Isn't that the owner's money that makes up that shortfall?

That's a genuine question as I'm not an accountant.

Leave work early with a mountain of things still to do.
Journey takes nearly 2 hours instead if the usual hour and a half.
Parking is a nightmare so end up miles away.
Queues are massive probably due to everyone struggling to get there for s 7.30 kick off.
Watch us run around doing next to nothing capped of by the clown keeper finding another way to mess up and the world cup winning right back having another shocker.
Grown men kicking off with the "sit down" stewards, kids crying.
Return journey worse due to Bingham roundabout being closed finally home at midnight
Get up at 6 to catch up on work.

Ecstatic.

Let’s face it, January has been a terrible month. Poor recruitment and FFP finally coming to light and has highlighted that behind the scenes, the club certainly isn’t magic. Bad results on the pitch with individual mistakes coming under scrutiny and the fact we don’t have a Keeper are all reasons to be negative.

The positive outlook is that I think Nuno is a good manager and he will make us more competitive in games. Awoniyi and Elanga are back and if we can sign a Keeper, we’ve every chance of staying up.

So, overall mood is a mixed bag - ask me again at the end of February!!

If Everton get the same deduction as us (and why would they get less?) it’s gonna be a straight shoot out between us and the Toffees.

I’m taking solace from this to be honest. Only my opinion but, with all the uncertainty the one definite is finishing above them keeps us up. The bottom 2 will get nowhere near enough points to be an issue if we can build a gap over Luton then great but Everton are our target.

Easy to be gloomy at the moment. After the last couple of seasons, this one has, so far, been a bit of a nightmare. Everything that could go wrong, has done.

But life is like that. Yesterday was the twelfth anniversary of my wife dying and I was hoping for a win to at least not make it a more shit day.

It's dark now, but it will be brighter and it will feel better, no matter what happens. I'm still here and I laugh more than I cry, so it could all be worse.

Keep the faith!

Still optimistic on staying up based on the team and squad strengthening significantly over the next couple of weeks - Taiwo and Elanga back is huge, the AFCON players returning, Reyna will hopefully offer more than CHO has.

Obviously this optimism goes away if don't get a decent keeper in.
