That doesn't sound good and I hope it's not true, because that special feeling and spirit we have had throughout the club under Cooper needs to remain solid.

To be honest, Coops might feel pissed off and hurt by the revelations, but eventually, unless he forgets it and gets on with coaching the hell out of the players, the only person he's going to hurt is himself.

If he fails or ducks out of a club again, he'll not be doing himself any favours.

I want him to succeed. Let's hope he does.

I also don't see what the big deal is.

As far as I can see (and I've looked as hard as I can for evidence), all that was revealed was that an improved contract had been offered and negotiations were in the advanced stages. No mention anywhere of sums of money, contracted expectations or anything private.
All the leak said was what we all knew...and expected, so no idea why Steve is pissed off...

I do hope Steve isn't starting to sniff the same varnish that did for Billeh.....

I expect that Steve is fully aware that far more than necessary is made about these types of issues if you exist in the spotlight of the Premier League Richard.

I'm not suggesting that it doesn't have substance, but it certainly won't harm any prospect of the Athletic attracting new subscriptions.

I’ve never met Steve Cooper and certainly don’t know him as a person, but from his mannerisms etc in interviews he doesn’t come across as someone who would refuse to sign over something so ‘trivial’ (to me at least). I mean, all the details are usually released after they sign anyway.

Doesn't really add up for me. Leaks are part of the game, and Cooper will be fully aware of that. Nearly every single transfer we made this summer leaked ahead of time. It's not like the contract leak revealed anything sensitive - purely that a new contract was being offered.

Whoever is doing the leaking needs putting on gardening leave, mind you - our teamsheet being available a day before every match would rightly infuriate Cooper.

Dunno about anyone else but the injuries we've picked up, the transfers we're getting linked with late on and the transfers other teams are getting linked to... I'm starting to get a bit of a sinking feeling. Desperately need to keep the good league form going.

Same. Things are starting to look a bit grim all of a sudden.

An injury to MGW was just what we didn't need from the United game, especially as part of a harsh 0-3 scoreline.

Another heavy defeat on Wednesday would lower the mood further, but we just need a couple more league wins in February and things will look a lot brighter.

Makes ya all nostalgic for transfer windows of the past when we were treated to Djebour, Fox, Diahkaby ect

Can't stand being linked with the likes of Navas & Fillipo as well as only signing Danillo & Scarpa

You never know. Cooper stating MGW may be out for a little while could be his way of saying he'll be back in a couple of weeks.

Lingard was on the bench against United last week so I imagine he'll be 'next man up'.

Niakhate and Richards set to return to full training.

For everything bad, there's always good things that happen to tip the balance.

If some of this lot had been around in 39 we'd all be called Fritz and driving VW Beetles now
It’s just as well some of our players weren’t around in 39-they wouldn’t have even made the battlefield-they’d have cried off injured (in some cases even before a shot had been fired).
