The Joe Lolley Retirement

Heffing Psycho!

Re: Joe Lolley deserves a good ball-cupping

I absolutely wouldn't blame Lolley for going, his boyhood club and gets to play for an exciting manager in Dean Smith, once he gets Villa going they'll be a great watch.

Moving for a manager in the Championship is a fool's game.

Definitely off in the summer then. At least the club are making sure we get the going rate for him.

Some decent news for a change.

He'll get started on playing for that bumper move in the summer. Win win.

Re: Joe Lolley deserves a good ball-cupping

Great news. I thought he was the only real threat we had on Saturday. Seems to be carrying the burden of having to do it all himself. Fingers crossed that's rectified next game and he gets help from carvalho, bonatini and grabs.

Crikey!
What cynical bunch we all are.
I hope he kissed the badge when signing.
Release clause... £10m?

I certainly wouldn’t accept anything less than £10m and I be hoping for something closer to 12-13m in this climate.

The lad is an absolute bundle of talent.

For a 4.5 year contract I'd imagine if there is a clause it will be for premier league offers?

So last January we sign him to a 4 and a half year deal. A year later with some good form (and some barren patches) we give him another 4 and a half year deal.... I don't get it.

It's simple, actually: his contract was extended for another year, with more money, better bonuses, and renegotiated release clauses. Standard procedure for good players who attract attention.

One of our best players, yes he's had his off days but who doesn't

Player in good form gets a new contract. Its pretty standard.

Re: Joe Lolley deserves a good ball-cupping

Yeh, loyalty's a two way thing. Lolley signed last Jan for a relatively small fee, having struggled for regular minutes at Huddersfield. His contract would have reflected that. A year later, he's one of the best in his position in the league and is apparently attracting interest at £10m+. It's only fair that he gets a contract that reflects his increased standing.

„Ah now, Joseph, that’s a fine pair of kneecaps y‘have there, to be sure“.

„Surely it would be a shame if something were to happen to them, for some reason, so it would“.

I thought that the kneecap thing was what a player got if they stayed. Obviously we've been doing it wrong in the past.

A case of every signing has a silver cloud.
