I’ll miss Serge, gave his all for Forest and was a key part in us staying up last season. Loved that he wore a retro Forest shirt when he appeared on French TV too. He clearly loved playing for the club and I hope he feels appreciated by the fans.
Quite surprised we never saw him get sent off in a Forest shirt but I’m glad! Good luck Serge!!

Great character, was great at times last season but the times I've seen him this year it looked like time had caught up with him.

I’m a little disappointed tbh. Serge was reliable and provided experience and often the aggression the team needed to get itself out of a hole. I hope he gets regular game time.

Shame - think this is a mistake. He never went hiding when things got tough, always up for the fight gave 100%. In the postion we are in, we need players like him. Would have kept him until the end of the season. I wish all the best, he has been a good player for us.

Fab has just tweeted that this deal is off, at least for now, because Forest and Galatasaray couldn’t agree payment terms.

The good thing here is that it suggests we’d be getting some kind of fee based on the problem.

With the Turkish window being open for another week I guess there’s every chance it still happens in the end but clearly not as straight forward as expected.

Or I wonder if the mega bucks Saudis will come in and offer us extra wads of cash for him to go there?!

I still think he’s pretty comfortably the best right back at the club.

But if the fee is decent then it makes sense, especially if Nuno fancies Montiel; I’m not overly impressed to be honest.

He was fantastic up against Sadio Manè the other night. Definitely still a player there.

Aina is both the best right and left back at the club, but Serge is next man in at right back for me so I hope we keep hold of him. Williams and Montiel are wing backs rather than proper full backs. Both lack defensively.

Wouldn't be unhappy if he stays but suspect he wants more game time gsn we can guarantee and at his age I wouldn't begrudge him a move.

Yes, in a season full of painful errors, his dying seal impression vs Luton perhaps haunts me the most, especially given that they're arguably our most important rival now.

If he was Montiel's age he'd get in ahead of him for me. As it is I'll leave it for Nuno to work out which two of them forward with us.

If we can get a chunk of Montiel's fee paid (8m was it?) selling Serge I see the logic, even if I think he's a better RB.

I don't rate Montiel and hope we don't sign him permanently, whatever league we are in next season and regardless of what fee we get for Serge.
