One other thing I noticed about him when I saw him play, he never shut up talking to his defence and goalie.

I like that in a defender.

Apparently he takes penalties as well, I read?

Not seen a centre-half take penos for a while in England. I hope he smashes the f***ing leather off it like Julian Dicks.

Steve Cook is outside and he would like a word
Aye, you wouldn’t want to be Steve Cook‘s cat, the way he battered that one.

He's a strong bastard isn't he? Something Wes Morgan about him but with pace and more athletism. Looks extremely composed too.

I've got to say I'm really liking this one.

Mancienne never had reviews anything close to this guy.

And if he’s crap he’s crap.

He is the right profile.

Looks a hard c*nt. Just what we need to break Haalands legs.

Wouldn't want to mess with him that's for sure. The youtube video looks good but then again so did Robbie Findlays...

There is very little crap in the German league. Not sure if you actually watch the Bundesliga, but it's excellent football. Tactically and technically a very strong league, third in Europe, in my view.

Would seem a bit harsh to drop any of the current back three but we do need reinforcements, upgrades and strength in depth for the season ahead.

Yeah, and getting proper game time for Soh and Panzo (Harbottle too maybe?) would be a good idea for the longer term - think the step up would be a step too far given their recent experience. I think we need a couple in who are ready now, especially now Tobias has gone.

Hopefully you're right and we're just unlucky and they're not overrated/carried by the better players because Robert Tesche was another crapo that we fell for with good reviews.

Obviously Murphy's vastly superior to previous recruiters, but the small sample size we've experienced leaves one precarious.

I don't know why you keep comparing him to Robert Tesche or Michael Mancienne.

It would be like saying we are signing a Norwich squad player who played 15 games, what's the difference between him and James Ward-Prowse?

Having seen all three of those play in the flesh, I can assure you Niakhate is significantly better than the other two.

Fans love signings no matter who they are. See the Karanka January for reference.

It's only a bit of perspective to the notion we should sign any old player as he'll do and "we can't lose". We can and in fact we often do when it comes to these left field transfers, only Samba has been a home run under our previous modus operandi. Hopefully this is Dane's scouting and not a left over from the scattergun that Dane's boss is pushing.

The Mancienne and Tesche reference if not obvious enough was because they played a lot of games in Germany and were highly rated.

In fact here's your quote on Mancienne...

Will be our best singing. £500k upfront for somebody not long ago considered for England...

He is a calming influence, solid and had continental ball distribution.

He was garbage.
