Euros. Still feels like a lot for a guy with a year left but what do I know. I don't even know enough to say 8 million plus add ons but...... 8 million plus add ons should do it.

I wonder if we'll still go after Rodon if we pull this one off?

I'm not sure we'd be able to spend £20-25m on cb's when we have so many other areas in urgent need of address.

Hate to say I can’t see it somehow, but I can’t see it somehow.

If Forest sign Niakhate that gives them four top quality centre backs, plus the young lads in reserve.

More reinforcements are needed in the wide defensive areas to replace Spence and Lowe.
€15m for a player who was captain and player of the season for a good Bundesliga side seems reasonable to me.
When you consider FC Bayern paid €35 for Benjamin Pavard, and in my humble opinion Niakhate is nudging towards that sort of level.

You know, an evaluation from someone who's seen Diakhate play might be nice.

If only we had someone who watches the Bundesliga regularly.

If only..

Old adage is build from the back, I wouldn’t be surprised if we go for both.

Thinking back to the owners interview with Colin fray, he said the commercial money wasn’t enough and that he would need to top up to make us competitive. I wonder if we are all underestimating what he meant by that.

This and the Henderson signing (when completed) are big statements, will make it easier for other players to see how serious we are now, and come on board for the ride.

Some Bundesliga fans are saying disappointing he's coming to us. One saying they thought he would sign for a bigger team like West Ham or Leicester 🤫

Comments on the thread below.

Most seem to think only reason he would come here is for money. Well yes I am realistic to say that is probably a big part of it, but playing in the Prem I am quite sure is a big part of it also.

I have had a shufty on a few German boards and the Mainz forum, and the prevailing opinion is they are pretty gutted if he leaves.

He is very highly rated.

Scored 4 goals this past season also; would be good to have another threat on set pieces.

Yes indeed, particularly this comment "For me personally, after Kloppo and Heidel, this is the hardest farewell of all time. That really hurts me"

If others are complaining that he should have gone to a better team, that shows how good he must be.

Immense signing if we get him.

You'd think that the Germans would've learnt their lesson in underestimating the might of Nottingham Forest

Yes you Cologne & Hamburg
You forgot Dynamo Berlin as well.

If we do sign him, would he be a starter or an option off the bench? From what I've seen he's really good with the ball at his feet.
With all due respect to Steve Cook who has been a rock since January, I can't see us spunking €15m (apparently) on a CB for him to be on the bench as cover.

I thought the wall was as good as you could get at Champ level.

I reckon this bloke's going to to to take it to the next level. The Premiership wall. (I know he's coming from Germany but I refraimed from a Berlin wall analogy).

Been watching a few vids of this lad.

Anyone think Stevie might have him earmarked as a left wing back? He seems to have all the attributes required.

It’s funny how every national newspaper, and some international ones seem to know our every move now. It really is a different world.
