Re: Mohamed Drager

If he signs and turns out to be shit, the owners/top brass in one fell swoop will have burnt the bridges they had made with a lot of the fan base when you appointed Murphy and the analytics boys this summer.

On the flip side, if he turns out to be ok, no one will say a word of praise.

Re: Mohamed Drager

We have tried for numerous RB's haven't we. We probably feel it is not worth the outlay and would rather spend money elsewhere until a better deal comes up.

For me it a logical transfer, no long term commitments and plugs a short term gap without the need to spend.

If he were signing from Paderborn I think the reaction would be completely different would it not?

People forgetting we have already signed a first choice right back in Osei-Tutu as well. I know he’s injured and the signs are likely that he will remain so for most of the season, but I am quite excited by him as I think he has real quality.

My concern is that doesn't seem to fit with what was supposed to be our new recruitment model and harks back to what exactly has failed us before.

We know it is a panic signing because Gabriel is going (no complaints about that) and we need a replacement pronto.

But it is a good short term option. Not a 3 year deal for Bong. I think the concern is misplaced, if we get a better replacement he will be gone in January anyway. This is how we should use the Olympiacos link if we have too, to plug gaps.

But Maja and Odeja does tho right?

If this was an option given to Murphy whereas a player would be immediately available for us rather than attempting to buy a right back that isn't guaranteed WHILE ALSO affording Maja and Odeja, I think that's smart business.

Now of course, if he was undermined then yes we do have grounds to be worried BUT I just feel like this is how our partnership should work between us and Oly.

I'm hoping (perhaps naively) that he can recover and stay fit, as I too have been impressed with what I have seen of him so far.

As long as its not been done over Murphy's head, then its not the worst as short term cover. I just hope that this isn't someone making a transfer decision without our CEO's say so.

A 3 year deal according to this.

Seems a plan to try and get more pace, and hopefully more movement in the team. Grabriel was limited, played it very safe-which u probably wud given lack of forest starts. We need more from fullbacks going forward but wish him well

Looks immediately better than Gabriel lol. Appearances in the top two leagues in Germany for Paderborn and Freiburg

He only played 12 games last season anyway according to Soccerbase. Ideal grounding for the 40 odd games Champ games we might need him to play

The Greeks really can't afford for this one to go wrong.

Well ain't that how u find stuff out?..

Not really ‘digging’ though is it mate .

But on a serious note, if we would have signed him straight from Freiburg people would be wetting their knickers about unearthing a gem from the German leagues. For all we know he could have been on Forest radar all along with Syrianos previous history in Germany, but he may have been target 3 or 4 on the list.

Won’t judge till I have seen him play, essentially a free. No risk it no biscuit.
