Gabriel to be sold? Wouldn’t be against that if the fee was decent and it went on a position of need

I would like to see what Murphy/Syrianos/Brass have seen in this one.

Any chance they can take Cafu back in exchange?

From GBG last March

When healthy, he is ligthning fast, combative and has a good cross in him. But his football quality and injury record would make him, at best, a free back-up option. You need better.

At least he seems to have a good character, gets along with everyone, celebrates like a child (he has received two yellow cards for joining players on the pitch for goal celebrations), and never complains for his limited game-time.

Free back up option? Yep!

Just what we needed.

Must have worked really hard behind the scenes to get this one over the line.

Dross. I seem to remember Udinese sending Watford genuine quality players. Was hoping for Reggie Cannon!

Re: Mohamed Drager

Regardless of how both of you feel about our history with players from Oly, we NEED an experienced right back.

Would he be our first Tunsia international? if this were to happen, obviously.

I don't mind it if he's any good, it just represents something we really don't want if he's being forced on us.

I just posted but Nixon says fee is agreed for Gabriel to Blackpool.

Yeah I saw, still iffy about it. Better than signing Christie on stupid wages and contract length though I guess. I just hope Murphy isn't being undermined that's all.

Had a feeling that might happen regardless of incomings. Fin Back is better and I like what I've seen of Richardson, so I'm not massively bothered.

I imagine a bit of revolving doors here. Back is a better and younger prospect than Gabriel but we need an experienced option on the right hand side as well as Osei-Tutu.

Sell Gabriel, take a cheap Olympiacos right back and give Back minutes in the league. Makes sense all round.

We have tried for numerous RB's haven't we. We probably feel it is not worth the outlay and would rather spend money elsewhere until a better deal comes up.

For me it a logical transfer, no long term commitments and plugs a short term gap without the need to spend.

If he were signing from Paderborn I think the reaction would be completely different would it not?

Yeah it would because then there'd be no chance our CEO was being undermined by our ex-CEO  maybe it's not the case but still feels a bit iffy.

Something that worries me too. Fair enough if Murphy has given it the greenlight, but if that is the case then surely this deal could have been done a while ago? Not like negotiations between the two clubs was ever going to be a problem, after all.

Hopefully its a short term deal as cheap, experienced cover and Fin Back can make that right back spot his own.

If the sale of Gabriel, along with the hopeful departures of Arter and DaCosta, means we could afford quality reinforcements WHILE handling our other positions that aren't AS important as a new striker then im fine with it.

Back seems to be better than Gabriel and Richardson is younger than Gabriel and seems to be on par with him, so the addition of Drager makes sense in my opinion.
