Dont get the Grabban paralell, he's held our season together Captain.

Keepers come under more scrutiny for mistakes anyway, its the nature of the job. Steele is considered No.2 at the club, he needs to come in & make a statement, not sure he did enough to suggest we're not saddled with two very average keepers.

His ground kicking struggled to make half way too.

Re Grabban: that he has figured for most of the season and scored a lot of goals is accepted.
That he has had plenty of starts but still conspired to leave Lolley fuming while scuffing his own shot wide was nearly as big a turning point as Steele's howler.
If Grabban passed it to Lolley it would have been almost certain Lolley, in a far better position, would score.
Score at that point and we go in at half time leading 1-0 with Steele having kept us in the game at 0-0, and Grabban and Lolley combining to give us the lead.
As it was, we had played our best football for sometime and failed to capitalise.
Missed chances cost matches.
The Owls came out and went for it from the start of the 2nd half.
Steele blunders and we are 1-0 down.
The impetus went in Owls' favour.
We were fighting an uphill battle.
All I am saying is that on the night Steele has to hold his hand up, but it could be argued that it was Grabban not feeding Lolley that created the real loss of initiative.
You don't get many chances in most games.
You simply have to take them.
And I stress I am not vindicating Steele - it was a horrible error.

As Martin is a dinosaur - can we get a big one in goal, like a T-rex? Instead of the Diplodocus we currently have.

A T-Rex?

He’d be a useless shot-stopper, have you seen the size (or lack thereof) of his arms?

If we're looking for dinosaurs we should bring back the Velliosiraptor

Seriously though, what use is a keeper who turns away as it goes into the net? At least make it look like you've tried to save it.

Looked great first half. Some top distribution with the quick throws and a cracking save. A save I might add, that I don't think Pants would have got to.

1st goal he lost all bearings after his crap kick. I blame Wague for not knowing his keeper's strongest foot and Steele for not being good enough on his weaker foot. Confidence shot after that.

He's going to turn 35 at the start of next season. Pants is 32. I really think we need better than both if we are serious about promotion.

From kicking the ball by the corner of his 6yd box there was 6 seconds to the shot being made - at which point he hadn't even got to the centreline of his goal, let alone anywhere near the goal line, hence inviting the shot. That means for 4 seconds he must have been watching from the corner of the 6yd box.

Who coaches our goalkeepers for Christ's sake? I know they've not much to work with but, bloody hell, BASIC GOLDEN RULES.

1. Protect the goal.
2. To protect the goal it helps if you're actually in it.

Mississippi 1, Mississippi 2, Mississippi 3, Mississippi 4.
The time it took you to read that was how long it took him to realise he was about to gift them a goal and start trying to get back. Frightening.

Steele may be crap (he isn't, he is just very inconsistent), but the decision to play in a 'last chance' match a keeper who had not played a single game in the Championship this year has to enter the equation.

Good point, well made.
That decision was down to MON.
What is the mood in Greece over MON's performance to date?
Does he still have the confidence of Marinakis?

The Greek press may be interested in Forest, for obvious reasons, but there seems to be no inside info (apart from player flow between the two EM teams). They just report the news, insisting on good news: a win has more chances of being reported than a defeat, the stadium reconstruction was heavily publicized, etc.

The equation you're wanting to enter that into already contains within it's formula a constant factor that the 'first choice' keeper is a good part of the reason we were down to a last chance and there is nothing wrong in MON trying to make the number that follows the equals sign a positive instead of a negative.

The fact that Steele has not played an actual first team game for sometime has nothing to do with how he gifted Sheff Wed the first goal. It wasn't down to fitness or sharpness of reaction time - he simply neglected to get himself back to where he should be.

O'Neill looked to correct an unbalanced formula but unfortunately discovered that both keepers = a liability through their poor positional discipline. Not his fault, he purchased neither of them.

Saw a rerun of the first Wendies goal, comical.

Steele looked like he was playing rush goalie for me & my mates back in the day.

Both Pantilmon and Steele aren't good enough as 1st choice keepers.

We've got a good understudy/no2 in Jordan Smith who has time on his side to mature into a quality stopper, just need to find a regular no1 who can do the basics well.

Indeed. I think the selection of Steele against Wednesday was more a case of MON finally having had enough of Pantillimon's fannying antics rather than any great display of faith in Steele's ability.

It was the horrified look on his face when he realised what had happened and he turned to face the camera!
I had a similar moment back in my day when my attention was distracted by a young lady on the touchline wearing a very short miniskirt and over-the-knee silver high heeled boots.
I was gawping at her when one of their players lofted the ball towards my goal from the half-way line.
It sailed into the back of the net.
I was not popular after the game.
And I expect Steele came in for a bit of stick as well.

But more importantly, did you manage to crack off with the young lady?
