What do people think of him so far? Decent performance last night bar the penalty-that-never-was at the end.

Case for giving him a go over Pants in the league at some point?

He can't be judged based on last night's match; he had almost no work to do.

Couple of dodgy kicks, and kind of let in the goal. Good back up but not a real challenger for the #1 jersey imo

Seen him first hand against Bury & Newcastle. Looked fairly assured in both games. Polar opposite to Pants in that he doesnt present as a particularly commanding figure & his kicking looks quite weak.

Made a good save to his right although it was flagged for offside.

If you picked him, would be more to do with Pants current shortcomings than anything Steele has done to earn the shirt. As mentioned above, he's not had a deal to do.

Looks shaky to me. Could have done better with the goal, rash with the challenge on Joselu. Doesn't have the height Pantillimon does to deal with it if it's landing in a busy six yard box.

I actually think Smith is better than both.

I think he would be better if we could sign a defender called Danny Magnet

Just when I thought I was out.. they drag me back in!

He had one shot to save...and he didn't.

In the cold light of statistics, that doesn't look great.

Uh, wut?

Has to be a goalie incoming if that is true, although that’s very, very, odd.

This explains the rather surprising move for Heaton. Steele was a clear no 2 for a clear no 1; Heaton will be a no 1 with Pantilimon a no 2.

I'm a bit surprised that Steele decided to come to us, because we're looking for a clear no 2. The Portugueuse Sa proved excellent and Steele will not have many chances to play. He probably wants to spend another couple of years in sunny Greece before retiring.

this is spreading to Greek media too. it makes sense to me. you need a no 1 keeper and we need a no 2.

Can't really blame him , Spend a couple of years not playing in Nottingham or in Greece, I know I would be knocking on Lefkasman's door every weekend.

The Spanish are renowned for their concept of „Mañana“ („Tomorrow“) which is sort of shorthand for „I‘ll get round to it“.

I think the Greeks have something similar.

Unlike the Germans of course, for whom punctuality is practically a religion.
