Lewis Grabban

He would be a huge loss.
Form is temporary, class is permanent etc.

At least we will find out today one way or another.

Since 2015, Lyle Taylor has averaged a goal every 188 minutes of football.

In that same time period, Aleksandar Mitrovic has averaged a goal every 189 minutes, Lewis Grabban a goal every 194 minutes, Ollie Watkins 234 minutes.

If Grabs goes the club have to wrap Taylor in cotton wool between matches.

Just noticed that Tomer Hemed is on the free agents list. If Grabbs does go, would Hughton bring in another player that served him well at Brighton?

Tomer isn't prolific goal scorer. Good penalty taker. He defends well from the front and closes down angles well against team's passing out from the back.

Not the hardest working striker but he is quite calm at taking chances when the come his way. He wouldn't be first on my wish list but a fairly decent option.

33 in January. He’s not going to get any better. Been good for us but from a business perspective it’s an opportunity for us to cash in before he’s sat on a long contract making sub appearances on big wages.

From a footballing perspective, not great timing and means we’re relying on Taylor not getting injured. But then, we did that all last season. At least we’ve got Guerrero and January window isn’t that far away

From a business perspective it makes little sense to cash in on a key asset without being able to replace it, unless the fee is too good to turn down. Losing him could have a big impact on the outcome of the season. A fee of £1-2m wouldnt be worthwhile because we won't be able to replace him for that. Only a fee nearer £5m would be attractive from a business point of view. Even then... promotion is worth £100m+.

A real makeshift option, but still as good a shout as I can think of.

If Grabs goes I'd sooner have him here than not, simply so we've an extra body up front rather than nobody at all.

If the reports are true and he wants to go, then whatever the business and footballing arguments are, there’s no point in forcing him to stay.

If they offer around 5 million I would let him go, had a good season last year but he’s been very poor this season. Wouldn’t get in our starting eleven at the moment.

Grosicki in and Grabban out would suit me

We need to take the players attitude into consideration when deciding what to do with any offers.

There are certain players who you know would knuckle down if the club decided it wasn't the right time to let the player go, however disappointing it may be for them. I think we can say for example that Cash wouldn't have let it effect him on the pitch if we turned down Villa's advances in the summer. Grabban has history to suggest that he isn't a player you want around if he doesn't want to be around. May be best for all parties if we accept any decent offer we get if Grabban has already departed mentally.

Obviously wouldn't want to lose him but wouldn't blame anybody coming towards the end of their career for wanting to take a big payday before retirement.

Grabban has been quality for us but if they pony up a few million for him then it makes sense for everyone.

He gets a couple of easy years in the sun with a big payday, they get marquee signing who will bang in the goals for them.

We shift an ageing, out of form player on big wages. Get some cash, make Lyle Taylor the main striker, get a better captain and most importantly never have to look at that beard again.

Worst beard ever in a Forest shirt?

Prutton MK2 had an horrendously unkempt beard like he'd just be found in a hideout in the Sherwood Forest. Only player I've ever wished they'd get a shave.

Fox's yellow beard, though for a good cause, must be up there too.
