I feel like we have some very fickle fans. He's started the season poorly but this is the same guy that has scored 15-20 goals in his past two seasons.
He's been a bit of a prick in other places he's played but i've always felt he's done the best for us when he's played.

I think we've got our money's worth and if we were to get back half of what we paid for him, then I'd reluctantly let him go if that's what he wants.
Given his current form, if he's now got his eye on a big money move for himself then I don't think it's a good situation for anyone to keep him.

We're probably going to be around the mid-table for the next couple months anyway while Hughton sorts us out, so I think Taylor will be enough in the meantime.

I think we're all fickle. But that doesn't disrespect Grabban one bit...he's been around enough to know when it's time

02/03 was the last time anyone hit 20 goals in a season before grabban done it last year

He’s class at this level

He'll go. The money will be too good to turn down for him at his age. We need him though. Our season could be quickly and easily written off early if we aren't careful. .

All these Saudi, Qatari, Emirates clubs move in the same way in transfers. First they offer a ridiculous contract to the player and then they start the negotiations with his team, offering less than what the player is worth. If the player considers the money as the most important aspect for his career in the short term, he puts pressure on the club to accept the deal.

Grabban is almost 33; he still has two or three years of football ahead of him. If he thinks it's his last contract and he does not mind losing the chance of a promotion, he'll be keen on the move.

For the club, on the other hand, it makes absolutely no sense to accept the offer, unless it is a big money offer, which I doubt it is. Having only Taylor and someone unaccustomed to the Premier as strikers would be a bad call.

Exactly. This is only a good move for nffc if the transfer fee is way over the odds, which it won’t be. A huge fee would be the only compensation for significantly weakening the squad and relying on Taylor staying fit and able to play 3 games a week until January.

He wants to go , So for me he can f*** off ,
I only want players that want to play for the team , Having a half arsed and pissed off Grabban is useless and like having another Clough on the wage bill.
Sell him no matter how short it leaves us as the damage would be worse keeping him .

Ok so let's assume he does go that leaves us with two recognised strikers in Taylor and Guerrero.does that mean we can sign a free agent as there'd be a squad place vacant.im also including the possibility of Grosicki going through.

Lol, that isn't really writing him off though is it. It's pretty much a fact that recently he's not been scoring goals at all and has been playing poorly as well. With some strikers it's true that there is a lot more to them than goals (Crouch and Heskey were good examples) but not with Grabban really.

If he's injured, and been playing through it, and just needs a break to get it right and comes back firing again then that's fine. Or if he's not injured and just needs a break.

If he is having his head turned by a move and the club don't want to sell then that's different. Or if quite simply age has caught up with him and he has lost it.

We don't know. But his resale value is clearly going to be low. If he is declining or wants to leave...

He has been a goof player for us but we have to live in the present and see what he is offering us now.

I knew it wasn't deliberate, but the way you worded it, well......It gave me the sort of opportunity Grabban wouldn't put away at the moment :)

1-2m? 3m?

The lad scored 20 goals in this league last season! If he goes, I'd be wanting 6m minimum. Yeah he's ageing, but he's going to a f***ing noddy league. He'll bag plenty there.

And according to this.....

https://www.japantimes.co.jp/sports...-nakajima-makes-record-move-qatars-al-duhail/

...........they paid 35m Euros for Shoya Nakajima only a short while back, so they 'aint short of cank.

Qataris aren't short of a bob or 2.
I think moving Grabban on would be best all round.
Taylor is a far, far better player.
He is aggressive, gets into the right place and scores.
Grabban has done well for us, but I think his age has caught up with him.

Grabban has done well for us, but I think his age has caught up with him.

If anything has caught up with Grabban it's that insane decision summer to go with only the one striker in the squad.

We may have got away with it but not only did it wear him out but it broke him chasing scraps.

Last seasons club policy had and continues to have serious negative consequences for the club.

And there was me thinking there were rules regarding tapping-up players.

I guess that only applies to the little guys though eh?

I don't think he's done, just a little unfit or low on confidence currently. In his first season he went a few games not scoring
and I remember thinking have we overpaid here but then he started banging them in.
Same last season he looked off the pace or slow at times but still banged in 20+
I'd rather he stayed but is given a week or 2 on the bench to get over his niggling injuries and give Taylor a chance.
Letting him go well leave us light, especially if Taylor picked up a knock as Guerrero is unproven at this level

To be fair lard, i think if you offered every player in the squad the sort of pay he'd be on there, they'd be interested in the move.
There is a difference in being interested and demanding to leave which currently isn't the case.

I don't know Lewis personally and I don't know his thoughts on leaving, but what I do know is his contribution to our club especially last year was significant in challenging circumstances.
We are talking about someone who was the third highest scorer in the league and for the most part, lived on scraps most games.

I feel like as fans we demand blind loyalty from the players but there's been weeks of people calling him shit and giving him abuse, yet just six months ago everyone is calling him the best striker in the league and yes grabbs and all this.

If he wants to go and the money is sufficient, we should reluctantly let him go. But giving him the f*** off mentality, I don't think so.

I think he checked out with Lamouchi already having been lined up for his new job before he was terminated and he may have approached Grabban. At the football crossroads age of 32 Grabban may have decided to go and perhaps make more money and live in a Muslim country and particularly with Taylor and Guerrero coming in. His recent goal misses are not the Grabban we knew. I know just conjecture but entirely possible.

If he wants out, then f*** him. Simple. Thanks for the goals, but I don't think anyone will be handing out bubble wrap.

In an ideal world where money is no object, you keep him.

But he is on probably good money and if we sell, you would think there is 3-5million there to be had.

We can always play Taylor and Guerrero... as an option we can play one of the Wingers up there, Freeman would do a job, Mighten I think would scare teams with his pace. Also dont we have any kids in the system who play upfront?

Got to wait uNeil January I’m afraid and he should know that. We can’t keep leaving ourselves short, we simply can’t afford at this period for him to leave. I want him to leave in an ideal but unless we can get a replacement there is no point. We are short of a backup number 10 never mind losing another striker.
