He leaves with my best wishes, a rarity in that he is a player we signed over the age of 30 for a transfer fee that did well, scored some really important goals for us at both ends of the table.

I see him doing a good job for an upper championship team or getting his move to the middle East for a final pay day as long as he doesn't join dads army down the road I wish him well.

Good luck Grabban, got some extremely unfair criticism every season by a section of our fan base but to me you leave a legend.

Best striker we've had since Johnno.

Go abroad and smash in 20 goals or sign for Wednesday and smash the sheep 😂😂

He was better than one season wonder DJ for me, best since Van Hoijdonk imo.

Good luck Grabbs, I suspect he still wants a prominient role in a championship side unless he's off to some Arabic state for one last payday.

I tend to agree, Johnno just had the better of the 1 seasons.

Britt could have been better than both, but injury and greed got to him.

I didn’t think he’d be a great bench option anyway to be honest.

For me Grabbs is at his best when he is fully fit and has had a run of games under his belt.

He has been a great striker for us though and seems a really good character to have around. I hope he gets the move he wants, regular football and continues to bag goals.

Always liked Grabban. He played a bigger part than some people think. Would have liked him to stay as backup and as one of the more experienced players in the dressing room.

Best of luck Lewis.

I don’t think anyone can have any complaints.
It’s a fine balance here and whilst many/most would have liked him for another year the club has shown (Brice) they won’t be pushed around on money.
Whilst that creates some uncomfortable feelings based on sentiment, we can’t have the top end signings we are getting without prudence elsewhere.

Sounds like we offered a very much reduced contract.

I'm with Coops, I think we should have kept him another season.

Nayyy mind, onwi goo....
Probably one where Cooper would prefer him stay but only if money is right. We’ll be paying him to reflect a 34 year old player, who will be 3/4 choice -championship clubs cud pay him more as he’d be 1/2 striker.

Aye, true.

As long as they are better than what we have (we'll see), we cant complain.

Our value model for player contracts clearly favours the young - champ man for real, love it! (Hope it works)

Good analysis - he's always struck me as someone who is at there best after a run of seven to ten games. Great striker fir us and a far better footballer than I imagined when he signed. Quality player.

Gutted he is leaving. Really enjoyed watching him play. One of the best strikers we have had at the club in the past few decades. He had a great first touch and his bursts of pace always fooled defenders. He has scored some absolute crackers for us.

Wish him all the best and I'd He comes back here with his new club then I'm sure he will get a good reception.

I would have liked him to stay for another year as a back up because I think he has a lot to teach the younger players - And Cooper clearly wanted him to stay, but understand why he would want more than that.

He came to us as a big money signing and despite having a section of the fanbase on his back (for whatever reason) from pretty much day one the truth is that he really never let us down.

He was played, often as the only striker, in teams that sat deep and defended, with limited opportunities to do what he does best, he worked hard off the ball (despite what some may have thought) and scored enough goals to justify his fee - In fact, I'd argue that under Lamouchi, it was his goals in the early part of the season, before he got worn out being the only striker at the club, that not only put us in with a shout of the playoffs, but kept us out of a relegation dogfight (noticeably as his goals dried up Forest imploded).

His 12 goals last season were a major factor in getting us into the playoffs and as such he will always have my respect and gratitude for his efforts at Forest.

Thank you Lewis Grabban and good luck with wherever your career takes you. You will always be part of the team that got us promoted.

Well, it's not over yet it says in the article.

I think Grabz would get double figures even playing sporadically.

He'd be on the end of them lightning whipped in Brennan crosses make no mistake.
