Why would he move to a club above his current level to sit on the bench? He was given a chance in the championship

I wouldn't dismiss this so easily. He could well be playing for Lincoln in the league above us next season.

It'd just be cheaper to keep players like him at the club & loan him out for 4 years on the spin, than buy him back for several times what they paid for him and chuck 13m at some unknown who dos relatively little in the meantime.

Sure there'll be the usual excuses made, but winners make the right decisions and do the right things. Which is why we've remained losers for so long.

Hopefully lessons learned & that'll change soon. Certainly letting Hughton make decisions about the clubs ins & outs rather than the likes of Ventroz would be a huge step forward.

Whether you succeed at anything,it's not how many good decisions you make it's avoiding making too many bad ones. We've made some shockers over the years.

Just like Tyler Walker he wouldn't be given the right opportunity anyway. Both players thriving in an environment where they are allowed to play to their strengths. Very few attacking players will thrive in our negative set ups.

I'm beginning to change my mind on this one. He's yet to sign a new contract so wouldn't be too expensive. He's having a great season and Lincoln fans are raving about him. Why not sign Grant AND recall Johnson. We'd then inject a bit of understanding and a winning mentality into the side.

Just noticed he scored his 50th career goal a few days back on the back of his 11 goals & 7 assists this season.

Great to see another academy lad doing well.

Set for a move to the Championship according to the Lincoln chairman.

We have a large sell-on after giving him to the Imps for free.

Always been a technician. Just needed game time to develop.

Wonder if he will be another to wave us on by hehe

It sounds like we structured a deal smartly for a change

I thought the same but it looks like we've been done in this one.

To keep him in January he signed a new contract stating that if Lincoln don't get promoted and a Champ or Prem team comes in for him he can leave for free.

 that’s actually amazing, we just can’t win, can we?

Haha brilliant. We might as well take him back if he’s available on a free.

I agree. He's probably no worse than what we've got in midfield now, and we'll be out of pocket anyway if he goes elsewhere. Won't demand massive wages either.

That was my thinking, lowish wages and versatility too. Should retain some value if we sell him on next summer as well.

Don’t see it happening though.

Well if that's true it should focus our minds when our "friends" in Lincoln want to help us (to help them) in the future....

We can send them dale Taylor on loan who's only 17. A good club for our youngters to experience first team footie and a good manager that will take care of them.
