Financial Fair Play (FFP)

I'll doubt there will be any appeal made tomorrow.

Although the arguments surrounding the fairness of the rules themselves are valid, they remain a fact of life and I couldn't really say they'd been misapplied in our case.

The PL come out of it looking awful and certain senior figures at Forest incompetent, but given the penalties appear to have been benchmarked by our judgement and Everton's previous appeal, the chances of success would be minimal.

Far better for EM to bide his time, awaiting the opportunity to wreak his revenge on the PL.
The best revenge would be to take maximum points for the remainder of the games we have this season. Can't see that happening though somehow.

So is there a good reason why our case had to be heard before Everton’s so we don’t get to see what they’re charged before the deadline for our appeal runs out? Not sure I’ve seen the official reasoning for that. Everton’s outcome surely has a bearing on whether we might appeal or not.

Somebody on another forum said that Sutton on 606 said that we are going to appeal. No idea whether this is correct.

File it in the bin along with Maguire's heard we're doing a deal on a lower punishment for agreeing not to appeal.

It's all guess work.

If anything comes out of Everton's appeal that is pertinent to our case I assume it's straight to the lawyers based on exactly this.

I did wonder if we'd raise an appeal based on this very fact, with the proviso the appeal would be dropped if nothing comes out of it. But that opens the door to an increase in the points penalty so doubt we'll do that.

I didn't know what that word meant until I was 19. As a young apprentice, returning from holiday, I was met with a huge sack of 1970/80's jazz mags on my office desk.

I obviously had to take them into the laboratory for investigation. One of the more interesting findings was an article on mutual micturation. A proper mind bomb for a young lad I tell thee.

Things changed in the years between when I rocked up there, at which point the English teachers were more focused on trying to prevent pupils stabbing each other.

🤣🤣🤣 wet spam think there buying MGW and awoniyi if were selling MGW iit definitely wont be to them

Can't see them paying the £50m-£80m for MGW. I could however see a bid upwards of £30m being enough to get Awoniyi, he would be their main striker from the off too, which I am sure would appeal to Taiwo.
If West Ham do put enough on the table for MGW I could see him wanting to leave, he strikes me as the kind of player who would want to live in London.

I think even if we stay up this season, the summer is just going to be about other clubs trying to sign Murillo, MGW & Awoniyi from us. I'd be very surprised if we had much activity without selling one of those.
It is inevitable that we will lose all 3 eventually, that is not my worry though, my worry is replacing them with shit that Mendes offloads to us.

Bournemouth have released their accounts.

Strange fans crowing on about how they've made a profit "unlike others" in a dig towards us.

Its hard to know the psr calculations but it does show expenditure on transfers that probably exceeds ours without any player sales the last couple of years of any note.

Their promotion expenses seem to be about the same in the region of £20m.

They were also taken over so there has been some hefty £74m shenanigans done with share issues.

What I find interesting (And absent from ours probably understandably) is that their amortisation figures seem high, £29m in the championship rising to £42m in the Premier league.

Away from the headlines there is a link to the actual books in the article.

Isn't it wonderful to be talking about selling our two best and potentially top 10 players for a song thanks to the amazing way our club is run? 😆

I very much share your concern we could potentially become a dumping ground for the Mendes project. Lord knows what dirt he has on Marinakis, but it must be good.

Seeing us sign his players in Jan to not actually use and WHILST FACING A f***ing FFP/PSR POINTS DEDUCTION is quite frankly amazing.

Fawaz looks better every day. 😆

I know you'll likely have a counter response Alf, but I'd strongly argue that there are so-called "better run" clubs that have to sell their better players on an annual basis, most notably Brighton, Wolves and Brentford, despite enormous PL revenues.

Yes f***ing scandalous - buying unknown nobodies from the back of beyond for £11m and turning a 500%-600% profit in year
Who did this regime buy for 11m, then sell for 500-600% profit exactly?

Come on mate, even the club's biggest sympathizers can see that the position we've forced ourselves into is going to allow us to be skanked far more than those when it comes to sales.

It would not matter if Forest was run impeccably by the Virgin Mary, archbishop Desmond Tutu and Bob Ross, the way the financial aspects of the Premier League are stacked against the „small clubs“, their best players are going to be picked off, every single season.

Rinse and repeat.

It’s anti-competitive, borderline bent and frankly, f***ing boring.

This is nothing to do with our great club Otis.

The real issue now is the preparation for the next home match and getting behind our team with the great FG guys leading the way.
Negative thoughts as we all know are not good for your physical or mental health and this forum needs to pour its positive energy into the team, manager and the ownership.
