Financial Fair Play (FFP)

We'd have to sell, but I don't think we'll get the value we would had we been FFP/PSR compliant personally.

The setup is stacked against clubs like ours, but we've done ourselves no favours.
I disagree slightly on this as one thing marinakis has proved through his stubbornness is that he won't entertain derisory offers even if it does f*** us up
If we are wanting to sell MGW there will be more than 1 club interested same for murillo taiwo is a different matter because he has had no long runs without injury

Murillo yes. For a big enough wedge to not need to sell MGW. He's absolutely pivotal to how we play under Nuno & everything goes through him.

Even if he expresses a desire to go I think Big E will be able to persuade him to stay another year. And forget little old West Ham- he'll want a top 6 club.

And if we do sell, talk of £50m is laughable given that we've already coughed up £30m plus and owe Wolves a sell on fee. One thing we do know is that the Greeks don't let players go on the cheap.

Bournemouth have released their accounts.

Strange fans crowing on about how they've made a profit "unlike others" in a dig towards us.

Its hard to know the psr calculations but it does show expenditure on transfers that probably exceeds ours without any player sales the last couple of years of any note.

Their promotion expenses seem to be about the same in the region of £20m.

They were also taken over so there has been some hefty £74m shenanigans done with share issues.

What I find interesting (And absent from ours probably understandably) is that their amortisation figures seem high, £29m in the championship rising to £42m in the Premier league.

Away from the headlines there is a link to the actual books in the article.

Bournemouth fans are a strange lot really. Pretty sure debt writeoffs don't count towards PSR otherwise it makes the Rules pointless.

Bournemouth fans crowing about prudence e.g. is bizarre as I've said before.

Amortisation will be partly due to working through PL transfers made and extended over years. Partly due to higher Loss Limits and Parachute Payments.

I don't see how you can just count that Exceptional Operating Income towards PSR/FFP whatever you want to call it. Sure it appears there but what I mean is in terms of PSR Calcs.

Agreed mate no way I'd sell personally and he also to me doesn't seem the sort to push for it he does appear to like it here of course I could be completely wrong on that though 🤣

Who did this regime buy for 11m, then sell for 500-600% profit exactly?
That is the sort of money we will make on Murillo - if we decide to sell him - which we won't

There will be 3 or 4 lesser valued players (who we are looking to shift anyway) shipped on during June/July to meet P&R
and if anyone wants our better players - they will have to pay the going rate.

If the rumours are correct and we have Arsenal, Liverpool, Atletico & others bidding for Murillo - we will get top dollar

Yes its a bit odd. I don't know with it being part of the takeover that that is different though and maybe be able to be included in some way.

I think its basic maths admittedly but they said that they spent something like £130m on players (A further £86.5m outside of the reporting period), £20m promotion related costs, £3m on the training ground £88m on wages had a total £141m income versus £241m expenditure and are presenting a picture of profit!

The year before they showed a £55m loss.

I sure wish Forest had been clever enough to earn £71m ‘Exceptional operating income’ last year. Congratulations to Bournemouth though.

No reason it should be used to offset losses. Debt Write Off on Profit and Loss during takeover by the looks.

When I say offset Losses I mean for FFP purposes.

You can present your Accounts that way, no issue with that it just surely can't count towards FFP. Not all items do.

Simple example, Pre Tax Loss £20m, Depreciation of Fixed Assets £4m..FFP loss after that £16m. See the EFL v WPR debt writeoff case albeit that was the same owner.

Other big item excluded post 2021 is Fixed Asset Sales. Essentially what Aston Villa, Birmingham, Blackburn albeit not much, Derby, Reading a few times, Sheffield Wednesday and Stoke did would be disregarded for P&S. I'd assume this should be treated the same, new owners do inherit the existing FFP position so this would be really odd.

Ah, you mean like the 60m we were going to sell Carvalho "Prem class wonderkid for"? 😆

Tbf, we have been decent at selling on players, but I think some of you are getting carried away tbh. Time will tell.

This doesn't look like anything to do with 'sustainability' to me. Looks like bullshit! Get 'em charged!!!!!
Agreed.

The key charge test will be whether their Adjusted Losses exceeded £72m..I think they might if as we surely should we exclude Promotion Bonuses as well.

They added £86m in Transfers this season with about £1m Transfer Profit on Disposal which is farcical.

If Forest wanted something „outstanding“ that was worth about 70m, I’d send them a photo of my wedding tackle.

No mate, I'm firmly convinced you're wrong. Our P&SR issue won't have an impact on what we can demand.
I'm not really up to speed on all this but say for example we ask 60m for MGW would we have to get that before the deadline we missed this year with Jonno, or will be ok to go deeper into the window to get full value?
I'm just thinking it's OK for us to demand it but actually getting it might be another matter if we've only got that small window to deal in.
Or are they changing all this now and no-one really knows?

He says there are two issues, neither change anything specifically just reinforce the sense of incomparable injustice etc.

First, the dotties spent money boost their squad value to twice ours...

Secondly, theybdid some deals within their group structure that's seems to have benefited their net spend.

Things changed in the years between when I rocked up there, at which point the English teachers were more focused on trying to prevent pupils stabbing each other.
I left Keyworth over 30 years ago. Is South Wolds really that bad? It gave me a decent start, even though I didn't really switch on and apply myself until I started working.
