Samba paying a high price for his moment of madness. It's a tough lesson to learn, but Horvath seizing his opportunity and keeping the shirt because of it is great for the team's cohesion, IMO.

He has let in 2 goals in 5 matches with 3 clean sheets and we haven't lost during those 5 matches, He thoroughly deserves to keep the shirt, Regardless of his kicking and distribution he primarily role is to keep the ball out of the net, Anything else is a bonus.
Alot of folk on here would have dropped him straight away when Samba was available, Thank God Cooper shares my same views.

Completely agree, and it's not like Horvath is useless with his distribution. If Horvath or Samba were both amazing shop stoppers, claimed every cross, had amazing distribution, never made a mistake, then neither would be playing for us.

Number 1 aim for a GK is no goals conceded.

Keeps the shirt , Yes could have done better for the goal but made a couple of decent saves on a tricky night with the weather.

Tbf his kicking makes me so nervy and he was beaten through his legs today, albeit the shot was good.

Liverpool is a free shot but after then I'd be putting Samba back in.

He is improving with his kicking, Think he had one dodgy one tonight but is passing it better and quicker, I actually feel happier with him in goal as he doesn't take risks and isn't a bad keeper.
Think Samba is sitting it out for quite a while if we keep winning.

I would put Samba in for the Liverpool game regardless to be honest, keep Samba fresh even if Horvath is starting the next league game which I think he should.

The international break is a more natural chance to swap back to Samba, IMO. Horvath has done enough to keep the shirt for Sunday, and dropping him would be harsh.

Don't see him dropped anytime soon. Samba, same as all keepers has been beaten with a shot at pace at the near post, shit happens.

Horvarths distribution is fine, he releases the ball quickly and gets us moving with none of the amateur dramatics you get with samba, a solid keeper who I think will only be dropped by coops if deserved, that's not now!

He’s been excellent. Vital saves in pretty much every game he’s started so far. Looks to be getting more confident with his distribution. Having two good keepers is fine with me.

Did well tonight I thought. Don’t blame him for the goal. Made a good save with his feet early in first half. Samba will seriously be rueing his shithousery. It’s great to have genuine competition for the jersey now.

Horvath looked sharper and more confident playing out last night. I think the crowd gave an OLE early doors on one he played round the corner nicely to McKenna which seem to give him some confidence.

Samba has and would have probably let that in as well .

Bring Samba back now. Hes learnt his lesson now I'm sure. Hovarth looks vaguely terrified at times to me. He has done reasonably well but I just, maybe irrationally, have much more faith in Samba.

Could have done better on the goal, but aside from that another sound performance.

Cooper isn't one to change a winning team unless forced. That moment of madness has cost Samba big time.

I agree-I felt Samba was a walking red card(with his time wasting and other antics) before his luck finally ran
out.
I hope Steve Cooper has made it clear that his main role in life is keeping the ball out of the Nottingham
Forest net.

Goal was a bit iffy, not sure how much the weather played a part in that. Keep him in goal as we keep winning.

Samba clearly isn’t seen as the stand out #1 choice by the club or he would be back in the 11 by now.

I’d actually say bringing Samba in for the Cup game and seeing how he does makes a lot of sense at this stage

I feel another ‘Camp v. Smith’ debate is coming. :D

Horvath has certainly stepped up to the mark and silenced a few critics.

No goalkeeper is perfect and without errors of judgment and we’re extremely fortunate to have two excellent keepers at our disposal.

Who will Cooper put in the frontline on Sunday?

Horvath deserves it yet Samba will want to be back to prove himself. Either way, we can expect nothing less than 100%

It would be harsh to drop Horvath for the Liverpool game, but there's possibly an argument that Samba's big personality is more suited to the white hot atmosphere of the City Ground on Sunday.

Wouldnt share that argument, I think Sambas is at his mot susceptible mentally when the atmosphere is ramped up.

I love samba and he's pretty much my sons hero but horvath deserves to keep his place and his distribution has improved alot in a few games

It's strange folk think that, 'cos no keeper is ever set of for timewasting etc. Strange they think that our keeper would be the one to be picked on. Refs give one yellow and then let them get on with it. The only way they get sent of is for twatting someone unnecessarily.
