England team to face France at Euro's

Ive sat down and had a real look at that back 4 and can't believe why i and so many others have overlooked Lescott. He has been part of the best defence in the league this year and far and away has played better than Cahill.

This, Lescott has been overlooked by many for all of his career. He is also left footed which always give the backline a nice balance.

4 Premier league goals all season for a striker that cost £35 million.

He does not deserve a place in the England squad.

Rooney scores 20+ goals a season for Manure yet he does feck all for England. Club stats mean nothing when it comes to international level. Also, you have to look at what Carroll does off the ball, he is a great Target man and he would fit into the England squad perfectly.

England's playing style is to exploit the flanks with our pacey, skillfull wingers and get crosses in, Carroll will be the perfect man to latch onto the end of them, plus playing alongside a fairly pacey striker in Welbeck/Sturridge he can get them flick ons for the other striker to run onto. Maybe i'm bigging him up a bit but I honestly think he'd do well for England.

I disagree with people who think that Carroll = predictable English hoofball.

With Carroll up top, England will not just have an aerial goal threat - they will also get the best out of the attacking 3 behind him.

He can flick the ball on behind the opposing defence for Walcott to run onto.

He can knock the ball down for Gerrard to hit first time.

Ashley Young can deliver his trademark inswinging crosses confident that someone will reach them.

He completes the team. I would start him even when Rooney is back.

REALLY HOPE holt gets a chance he's a great all rounder and always gives 1000% and i think he deserves a chance i'm sick of the same sort of strikers all going defoe, welbeck and sturridge are all very similar and have scored less than holt so for me he should go and barry has been awesome for city lately, parker has gone off the boil since xmas an carrick only looks decent when partnered with scholes,so barry in a sweeper position with gerrard an lamps further forward in the centre feeding the wings where young and walcott can use their speed and do the damage also supplying the lone striker this system should see us get through the group...

Holt does all that, and also scores goals.

Taking players that are completely out of form and basing their selection on who they play for or how much they cost will never, ever work.

Andy Carrol has a decent second half against Chelsea in the cup final and a decent game against Chelsea in the league and suddenly he is a world beater. Face the fact he has been utter dogshite for the majority of this season, hence him being a bench warmer at Liverpool for the most part second half of the season. I mean come on, 4 league goals… You find right backs who have scored more.

All the tosh about him bringing others into the game, aerial threat blah blah blah Grant Holt has done all season and notched a very respectable goals tally with a side you could of brought for a third of Carrols fee.

Its much the same when people talk about Walcott, he can bring x, y and z to the side, which he can once on a blue moon and pigs are flying. Yet you have lads like Sinclair and Dyer at Swansea who have played their hearts out all year and have been in much better form.

How things are shaping up id like to see
GK’s: Hart, Foster, Ruddy
Def’s: Walker, Richards, Cahill, Terry, Lescott, A Cole, Baines
Mid’s: Gerrard, Lampard, Barry, Carrick, Parker, Chamberlain, Young, Sinclair, Lennon
Fwd’s: Rooney, Crouch, Holt, Sturridge

We will never win anything if we keep playing the same old Gerrard, lampard....

Both should be back ups.

Carroll has to go. Coming into form at the right time and he's unplayable when he's at the top of his game. He's had a difficult 18 months, yes, but football is 99% confidence and he's obviously been very short on that for a while. He's starting to get back to where he was in 2010 and that's good news for England.

Amazing how Carroll's form picks up when the opportunity of an all expenses paid lads holiday in Krakow is on offer.

Which set of overpaid unpatriotic pimps is going to care least about playing for their country? The English or the French? :)

Im still scratching my head at the Danny Welbeck obsession. If he was playing at someone like Wigan, he wouldnt get a sniff. He is utter guff.

Where did I say I wouldnt take terry?

I would but I wouldnt play him, hes an overrated racist cockney twat but hes an ok defender.

Rio has to play, therefore terry couldnt...

As for lampard, I dont really know what he does, never rated him.

I think he's a good player. Could do with scoring more goals but I think that'll come as he plays more games.

The reason I'd take Carroll over Holt isn't because he playes for Liverpool or because he cost load of money but because he's quite obviously got bags of potential and he's done well in his sparing England appearances so far. If Holt was younger then he'd be worth a go but what's the point in taking an untested 32 year old to a tournament? Had Wilshere and Cleverley played more games this season then I'd have taken them under the same premise.
