I’m finding this deal a strange one.

We had at least 3 right backs before bringing him in.

And he was supposedly a target of more than one PL club.

Which makes me wonder why we went for him, why were Boro happy to loan him out & why was he happy to ( at best ) make a sideways move.

Odd..

PS I suspect he will prove to be a shrewd acquisition.

Let me get this right…

We had Jenkinson, Gabriel, Richardson and Back at the club.

We signed the Arsenal lad on loan.

Gabriel has played the most league games and has been sold.

We’ve signed TWO more right backs.

Got it, carry on.

Allegedly didn't like being played as a winger, and Boro signed 2 RBS ahead of him (from my cousin who knows a Boro fan).

So instead he came to a club with 4 rbs already

Think Djed will be used more as a winger and Silva used more as a striker.

I quite like the look of Spence. A shame there doesn't seem to be a permanent option.

I really think CH needs to at least have a look at playing a back 3 with the potential wing back options we have. Let them provide the width and get Zinckernagel/Johnson, etc closer to the striker(s).

Back seemed like the youngster with most promise, hence the decision to let Gabriel go.
The Olympiacos lad seemed like backup for a very young Back and a very broken loanee.

I don't really get where this guy fits in? If he's better than Tutu, we might as well send him back. If he's pure backup, why bother with Dräger? He's not an option for the future as he's only on loan.

Dräger can also play wide midfield. He played there for both Freiburg and Paderborn.

3 of the highest 10 bumped threads on the forum at the moment are threads about right backs that we've signed this summer it's a bit nuts considering we were meant to get more joined up thinking with regards to transfers this summer

This lad can evidently play left-back too Alf.

We also have, in my opinion obviously, a more-than-capable left-back for this level out on loan in Serie B. Hughton's replacement may seek to bring him back in January if a problem remains, although I'm expecting Lowe to perform well in the role.

Was just a joke mate, hence the "" But it's still a good point worth making.
