What about his lawyer?
He'd allegedly be able to treat two at a time....
Several interested parties eh?
But Doughty said no one was interested in buying a toxic football club in these financially troubled times, was he lying again ?
Yes, because that always goes smoothly... cough, Liverpool, Man United, Derby...
Let's see if Flavio Briatore is interested. He seemed to sack a manager every other week, would keep the fans happy :nowink:

The Board of NFFC announced today that arrangements for the future funding of the Club have been confirmed with the representatives of the Estate of Nigel Doughty.
The new arrangements will cover the period up to the start of the 2012/13 season while discussions take place with potential purchasers.
NFFC Chief Executive, Mark Arthur, commented:
"We are very pleased to announce that the Club will have the financial support of Nigel Doughty's estate through to next season while we are seeking a new owner. This will enable management and players to focus completely on the task of retaining our place in the Championship for the 2012/13 season.
"In the meantime, discussions are taking place with several parties who have expressed an interest in acquiring the Club."
Investment bank Seymour Pierce has been retained to advise on the sale process.
Hoping they are in advanced talks with potential new owners if they are releasing such statements
If they aren't we're f**ked.
Hoping they are in advanced talks with potential new owners if they are releasing such statements
Sounds like they are pretty much expecting the club to have new owners by the start of the new season
Right, let's de-constuct the statement:
1 The family meet the financial commitments until the start of next season:
This translates as "there are 5 months to sort out the future or there is no future;
2 In talks with several interested parties...
This means there is not a serious contender to buy the club, but we are phoning everyone we can think of and begging them to make an offer
3 Investment bank Seymour Pierce retained...
ND put them on a no sale no fee basis so they are going to work their balls off becuase if they don't find a buyer within 5 months they get sod all compensation for their efforts.
Believe me, if there is no one in the wings wanting to buy Glasgow Rangers with their history and heritage, there sure as hell is no-one rushing to buy a down at heel provincial club about to drop into the third tier and requiring lots of instant cash with little hope of any payback.
Never has the old joke been more true:
Question: " how do you make a small fortune out of a football club...
All together now with the age old answer.......
But Doughty said no one was interested in buying a toxic football club in these financially troubled times, was he lying again ?
You could ask him?
Rangers can't get into the premiership. The richest league in the world. The situation there involves the hmrc missing money, years of mortgaged revenue, court cases etc. We are a more attractive buy by far.
