Is what I was getting at.

Also don't Derby own some restaurants on their retail park and a hotel/are proposing to build a hotel?

That's kind of the point, a new stadium allows you to build facilities to generate revenue outside of matchday streams...

Where in Nottingham would you currently go for top notch conference facilities with a hotel on it's doorstep?

This is why the Eastside site near the station would have been ideal. Damn you FIFA and your corrupt World Cup bidding process...

Obviously significant differences but Bayern geberate the 4th largest income in club football, with well over half coming from commercial revenue - so that's excluding all matchday and television income.

We had a lad at school we used to call Shed Boy. But that’s because he was caught wanking in one

Are there other activities which can take place in a shed?

I think he's in his shed. I'll not bother him just now.

Don't you remember the shed at Chelsea, the Shed End? Some rather rough characters used to congregate there.

One armed Babs was one of the well known names, Eccles another, Ive read a lot of books
Apparently in the late 60’s Forest were one of the few teams to ‘take’ The Shed.

I've heard there's some rent boys in Chelsea sheds. Mines just for bikes, fabricating and a bit of molesting if I manage to coax someone in.

I think MK have a hotel which offers stadium view on some rooms, I think Hudds do have some facilities which overlook the pitch as well. We do too, of course, but the boxes and pitch diner area don't seem to be as lucrative.

If you were a MK fan for example, you'd pay a lot to stay the night looking over the pitch lol

Reminds me of Leyton Orient with their flats in the corner of the ground. Specially one rather tubby lad who wanted to watch the game from his balcony, but unfortunately was adjacent to the away fans and after some while providing them with 'entertainment' was driven inside by the banter directed towards him.

Get the right room at The Holiday Inn Norwich and you can pretty much see the whole of the Carrow Road pitch.

I agree with you about Eastside as a location Ravi. Close to the main transport links and with easy walking distance of the city centre, which would probably have presented more non-matchday commercial opportunities. The only issue for me is that it would have been a shared stadium, and I don't just say that because of my less-than-benevolent attitude towards that other lot.

What does encourage me however, is that the development of the southbank of the Trent doesn't just involve the new CG redevelopment in isolation. From its unique location, the club can potentially take advantage of the significant ongoing upgrade of the surrounding area, including the proposed Waterside development just across the river, that promises an abundance of new homes and businesses.

The one major disadvantage there is having to spend a night in Norwich.

I quite liked Norwich.

Mind you, that's the upside of living in Peterborough - almost anywhere I visit seems nice, in comparison.

Can I recommend a visit to Chernobyl, or perhaps Fukushima?

Both would be a significant upgrade for you, I think?

I don't know mate, I haven't lived in Nottingham in over ten years and when I did in my teens I certainly wouldn't be invited to a conference. :D

Hopefully the new stand incorporates what you desire, I have faith in this regime after the positive start they've made both commercially and by returning the fanbase. Isn't there talk of Forest owned flats going up too?

Chernobyl was actually on my list of places to visit this year - but I decided to have a year of austerity and throw all my money at paying my mortgage off earlier.

A sound policy, it has to be said.

Once it's done, I'll retire from my career and do something fun to put food and beer on the table instead.

You’re going to work in Spoons?
