Reading are the ultimate plastic nothing *****. Nothing stadium, nothing town, half the fans only game along since the nothing stadium, their gates double in the premier league and then half the minute they are back in the championship. Their kit is shite. Typical wankerish Southerners too. Awful.

Their corporate hospitality provides the best cheeseboard in the football league though.

Are we having a cheese room in the new Main Stand?

Eastside would have been just about acceptable but out of town grounds are shite.

I agree but the difference in commercial revenue between us and the top championship clubs in this regard is around half a dozen Lewis Grabbans over the last decade, and if we ever do get promoted it is commercial that will present our biggest opportunity. Something the CG just isn't up to.

Eh?!!

Reach the Premier League and the broadcasting rights alone allows teams to compete with the vast majority regardless.

Top 6 might rely on extra revenue from commercial opportunities, but a good manager and well drilled, better players will always outdo the potential gains of various income streams.

Recruit a latter day Brian Clough and we'd be onto a winner.

Not everything is won by money.

Be interesting (if you have the time and inclination) to see how the records of the 'Big 6' compare when you see how they performed pre- and post-1992.

I'll bet the vast majority of trophies have been won post 1992.
All 6 were in the top 9 in 1972 with only Everton, Leeds and Derby no longer feasting at the big table

Arsenal are a big club traditionally and the only way they could afford that stadium so close to Highbury was to be commercially minded. They don't have a huge benefactor unlike City or Chelsea so what could they do but try to increase revenue?

Personally I think the CG expansion is a huge mistake and we need a stadium with a view to growing the club which is impossible at the CG.

We just don't have the fan-base to fill a stadium larger than the proposed expension of the City Ground. That's before we look at the fantastic location we have now, if there was a vote I'm sure the vast majority would want to stay. Anyway, we are so that's that I suppose.

That's a Male , In the Birding world the male is always the more colourful bird , Its so he can attract a female as most females tend to be drab brown with little colour.

The usual premiership fans comments, didn’t expect anything else.
For once it’s quite funny that we rested most of the first team, just shows we don’t give f*** about our big day out at Chelsea.
Like Eddie said, I can remember the 9k crowds as well, and the electric fences, the dog track and one decent stand.

Thanks for posting Calvin.
