Carlos Miguel Ribeiro Dias - Cafú

Surely a loan wouldn't interest us? We'd want a sale. Also might put Fornah minutes at risk if he went there.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Cafu departs today.
Lets face it he hardly got a look in last season and his route to the 1st team is now strewn with many obstacles. Can we really afford to register him?

I think if we end up with 26 he may well go abroad (maybe Oly).

That depends. As it stands right now, we have 25* senior players available to be registered in the squad so who to leave out only becomes a consideration if we make further signings. Presumably Cafu and Lyle Taylor would currently be considered to be #24 and #25 respectively in terms of depth and most at risk of missing out.

Even assuming we end up over 25, there's still questions - Is the Richards (or Niakhate, or Mangala) injury going to keep him out until January? In which case there's no point using a squad spot on him yet. Is it better to carry an extra versatile midfielder or a 3rd goalkeeper? In which case Cafu may get the nod over Jordan Smith.

*as always, excluding Arter.

Cafú will be third if not even fourth choice given the signings we've made

A loan move out to a Championship side would make sense for him and Forest

Yeah he can't possibly stay now. All depends who's willing to take him on I suppose.

He could do a job for a lower Champ club/top end League One for sure.

Yeah, correct decision unfortunately, despite how much I like the bloke.

Hope we can find him a good move in January. Its a shame that he isn't going to play any football until then.

Seems a decent bloke but we need more than that. Wouldn't have wanted him starting games for us in the Championship so it would've been ridiculous to have him around the side in the Prem

He might be coming back to Greece, where the transfer window is open until tomorrow. Not to us, and I've read no rumours about any team, but I consider it a possibility, given that most transfer windows have closed.

Never let us down when he came on. Has a great first touch & (perhaps surprisingly) plays some lovely passes.

Above all, a great bloke who no doubt played a huge part in the feel-good factor we had at the club last year.

He goes with both our respect & thanks.
He didn't let us down as such but he never took a game by the scruff of the neck...
His decent touch was off set by the fact he was tug boat slow and for a big lad he lacked the physicality you need in every league in England bar the prem...
