I have zero clue how we’re planning on lining up this season with all these players.

We’re clearly intent on building a 25 man squad of quality in one window, big ask to help them together but if it works we will do very well.

EM doesn’t know the meaning of relegation.
I think it's quite straight forward to be honest. We're going to play with a 3-4-1-2 and we're getting two players for each position in most cases.

Team to face Newcastle, if Carvalho and Mangala join is likely to be:

Henderson
Worrall Niakhate McKenna
Williams Carvalho O'Brien Toffolo
Lingard
Johnson Awoniyi

And then you've got Biancone, Richards, Cook, Yates, Mangala, Surridge all chomping to win a spot.

Funnily enough Carvalho was mentioned in that Tweet the Spanish journo put out about Moreno last night that also mentions us, nobody picked up on it though:

What he's saying here is that Carvhalo could go to Forest too if Bellerin joins Betis.

Bellerin's transfer away from Arsenal is complicated for some reason and looks like it needs the gunners to cancel his contract.

Can we please give him the same squad number as Joao had - can recycle old shirt 🤞🤞
Just thinking that myself, and the number 10 is still free…

Most comments I've read elsewhere says his main weakness is he's incredibly slow. Which wouldn't suit our team and he's also old compared to most of our signings. This one just seems a bit off.

but he’s also a top quality player. i think this type of move was always going to happen. regardless of the type of young player you want, you want to also get some very solid
experience. we got it in Lingard and we can get it in Bill here.

I look at it a different way. If he’s played at the level he has in la liga and internationally while not relying on pace he must read the game well and could continue at a high level for years to come.k
I suppose it depends how Betis play if they play counter attacking like us then I will stand corrected but if they're possession based then pace is less important and my concerns will remain. Though this could easily be a smokescreen to keep the Moreno bid from spiralling as a result of complications with Richards

they are not playing either. they are playing in transition. fast transition from defense to offense.

Yeah I'm not sure exactly how comparable they are in terms of style but fernandinho didn't seem to suffer too much, nor did Scholes.

Nottingham's dirty secret
Reading about his lack of pace I was initially a bit wary of this chap.

After watching him absolutely boss games V Real Madrid amongst others, I'm now pretty damn excited. Every pass is a forward pass, he nicks the ball constantly (think Soh x100) and never seems to lose the ball despite his lack of pace.

With a bit of a nippy bugger alongside him- like Mangala or O'Brien- this could be a winning combination..

Looks like he doesn't need the pace because he already knows what he's doing with it before the defender approaches him.

Always seems to put the ball in a spot which gives his teammates the best chance of doing something with it.
