Wouldn't be XMas without this bloke being linked to us:

Good player but too expansive for us and too old, I'd rather we spent the money on a winger than a striker and go get a younger striker for the future.

He's only 2 years younger than Grabban, and would be on a high salary, therefore little return on investment and no chance of a sale to recoup the costs.

When do we sign him?

Pointless, also I’d WBA are interested he will go there as they will pay him more anyway.

In all honesty I don't think it would be a bad signing even if its not wildly exciting one. It doesn't fit with the modus operandi we have been led to believe around younger players however....
Hes always been a good goal scorer and I would think he will continue to do so at this level for a couple of years if he stays fit of course. Put another way hes got a better goal scoring record than Billy Sharp and if he was offered to us at 32 not 36 I think we'd snap his hand off....

Whats for sure is we need a third striker in January and if this is it I wouldn't be terribly disappointed as long as its not as long term deal and theres no fee involved

We'll sign him when he's on crutches

Have we not learned our lessons about signing players past their sell by dates?

I‘d sooner Forest signed Crystal Gayle.

I only want you to create a goal scoring opportunity, Rowland.

Ship has sailed for me.

We need to be looking at a long term replacement for Grabban. Gayle at 32 is not that man.

Exactly,Rocka.
Besides,I doubt he would fit in with the new club philosophy which Murphy and Cooper are trying to implement.
It's a massive no from me-and I can't see Forest going down this road personally.

I suspect we have Gary. This has "agent talk" written all over it.

We're always going to be a convenient link for agents to put their clients' names out there. The papers will lap it up.

Feels like lazy journalism/agent talk to me as well. Doesn't fit in with our recruitment philosophy under Murphy at all.

Exactly this, were we safely in the playoffs, or sat in QPRs position with a degree of chance at the top 3 then I'd say gamble on a loan, but we aren't and it's looking less likely we will get into the playoffs so why waste the money.
