This thread needs a title change to "the diaries of lower level championship player"

We could have behaved like grown adults and it could have been left to wither and die with everyone wishing Tyler Walker the best for his future but instead it's already being used by people for petty point scoring.

It doesn't need a title change - It needs people to grow up.

He only keeps getting a mention because of his 13m price tag

Watching the careers of our own academy players is an understandable past time imo. Watching the careers of players related to ex Forest legends is also. Expecting a player who's both to disappear off the radar within a few weeks is very unrealistic.

You wait till he scores and we lose... or even worse he scores the winner against us.

My only hope in that situation is he celebrates as you should when you score

Why is it? If its Coventry you wanna discuss, why not discuss other Coventry players past and present that were much better players?

The team we beat in the semis when me and you were kids was a class side, Cyril Regis was awesome, I'd love to have seen him play for Forest.

Coz it's human nature to take interest in things tied to our history & foundations, and moving to Coventry doesn't erase Walker's history with us.

I once went to a do in Bermuda for Clyde Best. Present were Coventry, West Ham and Southampton players. Coventry were a decent bunch and I had a very pleasant evening chatting to Ernie Hunt.

The Southampton players were like a bunch of fourth formers on an outing (don't know how that relates to school forms these days) led by Mick Channon, but he turned out to have a very fine career after football, so I suppose some of them do mature in time.

If Pearce or Collymore had a kid playing football I’d be interested in their career just based on their dads time at Forest.

Both & Forests. Hard to separate
How is it?

One was world class at a time when we were a few players short of being the best in the country yet again, the other couldnt get a game when we were a negative bag of crap.

Good luck to the guy but I couldnt give a f*** if he kicks a ball again, the reality is we are on the cusp of another manager sacking and looking back at crap players as a way to stick the boot in when the player has f*** all to brag about other than his dad being decent, is up there with filming yourself "Sounding" on the internet

How's the draft for your memoirs coming on Richard?

It's just how some people are wired, regardless of any other reasoning.

It's like when people say "detatch Carvalho from the pricetag". It 'aint happening.

I can only speak for myself, but I like seeing how most players go on when they leave the club.

I like seeing how ex players are doing, sometimes because I like them, others because they've pissed me off and I'm hoping they're failing

Britt was the last one I took great pleasure in seeing fail, although he has settled now and is ok now.

Yep, I've never seen a player melt like that before... we should have signed him right back up when he got subbed.

Was similar the season after as well, just not quite as dramatic.

Seriously, does anyone know how Des is faring as an academy coach at Derby? Their academy seems to be on the up these days, and it is Cat1 unlike ours.

I think derby are considering downgrading from Cat1 as the cost Vs Benefits are not worth it.

We're cat 2 or whatever it's called yet our academy has produced many more millions than theirs.

I am also interested in this. From the snippets of memories he has put on this forum I would love to read more.

Actually I read other posts on here with interest and see that so many of us have stories to tell. It's just that I'm getting on a bit and like to reminisce rather more than most.

Absolutely nothing wrong that, VP.

Reminisce away!
