Whatever your thoughts are on head injuries, as a ref it is best to err on the side of caution and at least have a look to see if the player is ok. Instead Jones has opened the door to controversy. Not smart.

Looked soft but then I'm sure a flailing finger to the eyeball could still smart a bit. Some refs do seem to attract more attention from questionable decisions though.

People moan like hell about today's referees but look what they have to try and officiate.
These players constantly try and buy decisions. What was once the preserve of Ronaldo etc. is now in every side. Money has killed the game at the top level.
