Cloughie said (something like) in an interview I have seen somewhere: "Every week I get letters from politicians, and they always want something but don't have anything to give in return".

We've dropped some absolute bollocks in the last 3-4 months when you think about it from a public relations point of view;
  • Sacked Steve Cooper before Christmas, which while inevitable, upset the fan base.
  • Breached Profit and Sustainability rules even though we said we wouldn't.
  • f**ked about with the prices for the United cup game.
  • Hired Mark Clattenberg, the exact sort of ball bag we'd be on here giving pelters if he was still refing the Premierleague because woe is me, we're getting some shit referee decisions.
  • Came out and openly discussed the idea of leaving the City Ground when morale had taken a shit.
  • Used a Brian Clough quote one day, then the next are taking photos with Rishi f***ing Sunak.
  • Bombarded fans with a bunch of emails about club shop sales on a weekly basis.
Amid rumours on here of a number of behind the scene staff leaving the club because it's a bad working environment, the club have re-advertised the stadium tour guide position they closed at the start of the month.

Honestly, at this point, I'm anticipating an Israeli shirt sleeve sponsor deal, Kris Commons to be the matchday VIP guest at Palace, Marinakis to throw his television at the referee when we play Fulham and by the time we play City, we'll have announced that we've frozen season ticket prices if we go down to the Championship (as in charging our current prices) but if we stay up, they are going up by 10% because they are serious about survival, are you?

Well the City ground is fast becoming the Gaza strip of football (That's GAZA strip to any lurking sheepshaggers, not Gazza in a Newcastle shirt).

I'm not understanding the conflict over there btw, in fact me attempting to explain it here has probably made the situation worse.

Kris Commons as VIP guest for the palace game isn’t a bad shout - a belting rendition of ‘Commons is a Judas’ from the whole ground might just get the atmosphere going for the afternoon.

And the papers want to know if we're moving there
Now it's time to leave the City Ground if you dare

This is Major Tom to Ground Control
Negotiations are rather poor
And it looks like we are not here to stay
And Toton looks very different today

For here am I sitting in a retail park
Far away from town
This soulless bowl is shit
And I look a bit of a tit

The distance from town is one hundred thousand miles
But I'm feeling very chill
And I think his lordship knows which way to go
Tell Evangelos I love him very much
He knows

Ground Control to Major Tom
The atmosphere's dead, there's something wrong
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?

I was one of a few apprentices asked to put a training session on for local schools on the City Ground for a visit of Prince Philip in 1999.

He wandered around to my pitch to watch a group from a Clifton school to which he nudged me and said "there's rather a lot of these blackies isn't there"

Kin hell Phil, what the f*** do I say to that as an 18 year old?

Yes, it's great. isn't it. They are so good at football.

Or, Yes, but at least they aren't green and scaly like your family.

Or even, just think, maybe someone like them could be part of your family one day.

There's a nice piece on the BBC website describing the stadia to be used for Euro 24 in Germany. It doesn't say much about the facilities inside the grounds, or indeed about to get to and from them, but that's easy to find by visiting each club's website.
I like what I can see about the grounds themselves, I've visited some, and the pictures are terrific. Well worth a look.

The answer is “public transport”.

Just get the DB Navigator app (which is the official one, from Deutsche Bahn) and search in there.

I remember when I used to use public transport to go to Forest matches - always touch and go whether you got there at all never mind on time! When in Germany I used their public transport to go to a Bayern Munich game wow!! On time, efficient and so easy to get back as they had a stream of trains waiting at the station to take you away. Didn’t see any cars although the purpose built wide path to the station from the ground was away from any roads. Light years ahead of our creaking Victorian infrastructure

Oh and you can’t share a link to the actual article (because whoever edits the BBC website is an idiot) but it’s linked from here:

Note the capacities given are „all seater“ as they must be for UEFA events; this means most grounds „lose“ about 6-7k fans off the maximum capacity.
