Poor old Notts

Lost 1 game all season & Wrexham can still go 3 points clear of them if they win their games in hand.

One of them is only gonna get a playoff place with 100+ points, brutal.
I know anything can happen in the play offs, but I'd back whoever misses out on the automatic spot to win them. Seems to be a big gap in quality between the top two and the rest of the league this season.
Hope County go up and then up again. Maybe even up again.

Obviously they need to stay being the second biggest club in the city but if we're Premier league and they're Championship or even League One that's brilliant for local football.

As long as they don't overtake us I'm happy for them to progress. My grandad was a County fan so whilst I wouldn't go as far as to say they're a second team I certainly don't want them to crash and burn like I do Derby.
I don't particularly care much what Notts do either way, but I reckon both they and Wrexham will do well in League Two next season and challenge for promotion. I watch Mansfield a fair bit and the standard isn't great, Notts and Wrexham as they are now probably aren't far off the standard of some of the better sides I reckon. And Notts playing Derby (and beating them) in League One would be funny.

I wouldn't mind seeing them back now. They've had their time in the shadows after acting like prats.

The owners they have now seem like decent guys.

Their fans will act like twats if they go up, even more if we go down. I hope they stay down and dwindle in to a non league team forever, leaving us to Hoover up all floating fans.

My only deviation from this is if long term they end up in the same division as derby and they become the Nottm / Derby rivalry.

Some of their fans do behave like nobs but hating them for it feels like hating your four year old nephew 'cos he once called you 'poo face'. Good luck to the plucky little chaps I say!
I don’t hate them, I’m just preempting how annoying they’ll be if they go up.

Can’t really lose as if County get up Wrexham will have f**ked it again!!

That said I agree with whoever said higher up that the one who misses automatic will probably win the playoffs as there seems a big drop off in quality

I wouldn’t rule out Chesterfield.
It could be a Notts v Spireites play-off final-which could go either way.

Big win for county tonight - and with Wrexham drawing that's put them 5 points clear of Wrexham who still having 2 games in hand .... they might just do it and get promotion outright

They're definitely playing like champions currently. Can they maintain the momentum.?

I'd take County over that Welshy media w*nkfest.

Wonder if that cup run is catching up on them.

Luke Williams is doing a brilliant job there. You could tell they were a good side against us in preseason.

Think Forest Green Rovers did Notts a favour by poaching Burchnall. They look a much better side under Williams now, if they go up this season I fancy them to challenge for promotion in League Two next season.

yeah I remember saying when he got poached why an earth did they get him. I saw nothing from him to suggest he was a very good manager.

I don't recall Notts fans being particularly disappointed that he left either. His spell as FGR went exactly how everyone expected it to.

It’s funny because both are miles above the rest of the league yet potentially 1 will miss out and you never know what damage that does psychologically going in to the playoffs. The way the playoffs work in national league should work in the 2nd teams favour but it doesn’t always work. I do think the gulf is too big but if notre have a bad run of form and chesterfield for example are on a good run the local issue could come in to play as well. So a bit of bad luck and a team that is probably better than most of league 2 Don’t get the chance to find out and could be down in the national league for years. They really need to make it 3 up 3 down.

Agreed, 3 up 3 down works all the way down the league system (unless its 4 like in L2) so I don't know why it has to change for the National League. Seems a bit archaic to me possibly with links to the old days of re-election.

Yeah it was just 1 until about ten years ago which is ludicrous!!

I’d be interested if they actually said 1 up automatically and then a playoff for the next two spots between 2 and 3rd bottom of l2 and and 4 from national league.

I’d say the national league takes both spots most years.

There was some kind of announcement at the back end of last year that the National League would increase to 3 promotion places. But I'm not sure where that is upto.

Back in the conference days it was just one. The 2nd place by playoff was added about 20 years ago.

Bloody hell was it 20 years? How time flies. Really deserves to be 3 up
