Just remember lads, the playoffs gave us our best day out in 40 years of supporting Forest. My lad was 14 and the time and he said that's the best day of his life so far and he'll remember it forever. It gave our young fanbase something to truly experience. My flag is firmly planted in the playoff camp.

It was the best day of my Forest supporting life, only one that came close was the Arsenal game last season.

I think most younger supporters enjoy the play-offs but perhaps some of the older one like
the Captain and myself aren’t as keen.
Ironically,Forest would have achieved promotion 12 years earlier than they did had the play-offs
not been in operation in 2010.

There’s an argument that surviving the intensity of the playoffs, though much shorter, offer just as much of an idea who is going to cope in the Premier League as grinding out results against Rotherham and Barnsley week after week does. As Luton are proving. Traditionalists will scoff at this, but I like the playoffs.

The whole “richest game in football - three hundred million pounds!” spiel around the final is starting to ring a bit hollow now though. God forbid you actually spend that money to improve the squad.

They did something similar in the early days of the playoffs. Charlton finished 4th bottom and played Leeds who finished 3rd in the 2nd division. Charlton won over 2 legs. Well it actually went to a third game as it was 2 - 2 over the first two games.
They certainly did FP, I remember it well.

Personally, and I might be on my own here, I'd like to see a one off play-off between the side that finishes third from bottom, vs the side that finishes third from top in the league below - that way the third place side only goes up if they can earn the place from the side who they are trying to replace.
Didn't Chelsea get relegated from the First Division in the late 80s in this fashion?

Personally I think promotion and relegation is now pretty well organised, except, perhaps, the niggardly effort given to that between the Football League and the National League.

Otherwise around the leagues it gives an interest to many clubs right up to the final few weeks of the season.

I can' t see any point in trying to squeeze our near-misses over the years into the equation. Rules are always changing to accommodate all clubs, not just ours. Of course, rule changes are not always successful, well thought out or even sensible, but this particular one is just about right.

Depressed and fed up with the situation at NFFC at the moment.

Can't see any light at the end of this dark tunnel.
Same. Our problems don't end with this season either.

I've lost all faith in the people running the club, if truth be told. The only thing that would give me any optimism now is a change of owner. Bar a short spell with Murphy and Cooper running things, I'm fed up of how this club is run. It's not even just the results either.

Bored.

Forest are a real chore at the moment, on and off the pitch, nothing is going right.

100% agree Ash.

That day at Wembley seems a long time ago.

Starting to get really worried. I thought we'd get a result today. Odd team selection from Nuno. Just feels like we're being sucked into relegation. We play well and lose. Play badly against teams out of form. Just at the wrong time we're struggling to score.

Last season it always felt like we could turn it round. You could see Leicester and Leeds imploding. But Luton keep digging out results they shouldn't, which sounds a bit like us last year.

I'm clinging onto the hope that Everton are as bad as us and Luton's injury list is starting to bite.

Hard to find much to be positive about.

Today really felt like a relegation performance. Brighton are wank and it never felt like we were ever gonna score, never mind get any points.

Wasn't expecting a win, but if you can't take at least a point from a team like that after they've had a mid-week game then you're on a hiding to nothing.

It’s hard being a Forest fan. 😔

You’d think I’d be used it by now but Monday mornings being greeted by an Arsenal fan, a Spurs fan, a Newcastle fan and a Liverpool fan isn’t much fun.

At least I don’t work with a Derby fan. That’d be insufferable on top of everything.

Well, the next two/three games define the season.

Irrespective of what our current mood might imply, we do have the quality to win the games and we've shown that time and time again.

We absolutely must now turn that into points. We shall see
