VfB Stuttgart, FIVE, VfL Bochum, NIL.

Serhou Guirassy and Silas both with a brace, Dan-Axel Zagadou got the other one.

It was a proper hammering.

Training work-out for Aton Villa against Hibs and its 2-0. Make that 3, before half-time

Three headers as well.

Hibs with their mini European wannabe section behind the goal... Villa score and they carry on banging the drums and waving the flags.

Third goes in, the lass just carries on waving the flag like it never happened. I find that really f***ing weird!

Happy 60th Birthday today to the German Bundesliga, which was founded on August 24th, 1963.

On that first matchday on August 24th, the league‘s first goal was scored after just 58 seconds; Borussia Dortmund's Friedhelm „Timo“ Konietzka was in the right place at the right time to score, with Werder Bremen on the receiving end. It didn’t help Die Schwarzgelb though, as they went on to lose, 3-2.

Europe’s most entertaining League, it’s been goals, goals, goals, ever since.

Some welcome news for VfB Stuttgart, as despite the transfers of defender Dinos Mavropanos and midfielder - and Club Captain - Wataru Endo, Japanese international defender Hiroki Ito has extended his contract until 2027:

I saw the young man make his debut for VfB, and the club have acted to head-off interest in him by awarding him a new deal.

Bellingham scores again, I wonder how many he'll get this season, could be striker type numbers
The lad is an absolute gem. It was a joy to watch him in the Bundesliga, and he is going to be the player England can build around for the next decade.

Alexander Nübel, the loanee goalkeeper happened.

There is a reason that FC Bayern were happy to loan him out (he isn‘t very good). He fluffed a routine clearance to concede the first, kicking the ball into a LawnBalSport player which then simply bounced into the net, he then flapped at a routine crossed-ball, presenting it to the Olmo, who tapped it in, but it was ruled out for offside.

He then proceeded to throw another one in, then was absolutely nowhere for the others.

After last season‘s debacle between the sticks (where the VfB alternated between Florian Müller and Fabian Bredlow in goal, neither of whom were thoroughly convincing), they still really have not properly replaced Gregor Kobel, who left last summer for Borussia Dortmund.

Longer-term, there is an excellent young goalie - Dennis Siemen - working his way up, he was on the bench last night and last weekend, but he is only 18, so unless there is a real crisis, I cannot see him being put in, but you never know. He really is a top prospect and the club have high hopes for him.
