Not entirely sure why there's a undercurrent of anger tonight, yeah they've spent money and broken records (first 999,999 quid player anyone?) They've dropped through the league's, come up, had money spent, but money that is relative to their near rivals.

Balls to united, balls to Liverpool, well bloody done Man City you lot are evidently better and more likeable than the rest of those bum sniveling, bin dipping, fart huffing, ticket touting, scruffy scumbags.

If you could show an alien who had never watched football before why it's brilliant you'd show them the Deeny goal for Watford and the Aguero goal for City.

100%. I was just going to comment that y'all sure hate your own with an intensity I don't quite get. If any Canadian team wins anything anywhere we are , more or less, happy for them.

I'm happy if I do a full night's kip without a 3am toilet stop mate! I'm happy to see a new name on that trophy, it could be much worse it could be Klopp gurning as he lifts the bastard

I just want to wind up plastic Man U fans who are upset they’ve spent as much as City and aren’t anywhere near them.
Some of the nastiness and arrogance I've seen from United fans this season needs putting in a box and thrown back in their faces.

Even with money spent, you must find a togetherness, a winning mentality. Chelsea have flopped so badly this season under bad management.

I just don't understand how people are questioning Pep's management skills. He's done something very special here.

Exactly. They’ve toughed it out tonight and got their bit of luck towards the end as well.

It is only the tenth occasion a European side has won a Treble, with City joining Celtic (1967), Ajax (1972), PSV Eindhoven (1988), Manchester United (1999), Barcelona (2009 and 2015), Inter Milan (2010) and Bayern Munich (2013 and 2020).

I don’t think it’s about questioning his management skills. It’s about winning 1 European Cup with City in 7 years having been at a club who has spent 2 billion on players to get to the top.

No doubt he is a top manger and coach just think maybe he should have more than 1 European Cup in 7 years given the money they have spent. I accept its being harsh but when the media and others want to laud him as the greatest manager of the last 30 years well he has to be held accountable and measured harshly.

Winning a treble is a massive achievement BUT FFP is a joke City have clearly found some interesting methods to get round it some call it financial doping but hey PSG do it Barcelona and Madrid do it they all do it.

100+ charges currently hanging over them - if they are found guilty then all these trophies they have been won illegally. It’s mad that these charges have not been dealt with it taints anything they win until this issue is dealt with.

The top tables a closed door now it’s now virtually impossible to muscle in and qualify let alone win a Champions League from a Forest perspective. I think personally that is what annoys me the top teams do what they want and then we are meant to applaud when they shock win!!!

At least if your going to have FFP rules enforce them look at what Newcastle are up to with there massive new sponsorship deal they are basically sponsoring themselves to get round FFP!!! But if it’s okay for City then why not Newcastle why can Forest not do that???

My issue is FFP and the Premier League and UEFA not enforcing it. Either enforce it or just forget it altogether.

You have to think about the pressure Guardiola has been under to be the first Manchester City manager to achieve that.

I don't think any Manchester City players today or in the past have been Champions League winners. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Sport is won in the mind as much as on the pitch. That's probably why it's taken Guardiola so long to achieve it.

Just seen the result, now to see how the hundred or so charges against them ride out.

Like Chelsea, they've won the competition that's extremely watered down. I personally will never accept they or Chelski are in the exclusive European Cup Winners Club, and would be more than happy to tell any of their supporters so.

I'd love Forest to win it but I'd still be the first to say the same thing as above

I think the principle of FFP is sound (i.e stopping ‘another Portsmouth’),but the reality is that it’s very
difficult to enforce as clubs will always find ways round it (e.g sponsorship deals).
I feel club owners should be allowed to spend what they want as long as it comes from their own resources
and not heaped on the club as unsustainable debt.

Agree with that.

If EM or the Saudis who own Newcastle want to spend their own money by giving it to their football club, then provided this doesn't fall foul of other legislation such as money laundering and is handled legally, this should be allowed and shouldn't be restricted, as the money has been donated so the club shouldn't be required to pay it back.

If an owner wants to fund the club but does this via loans, then this should count as debt owned by the club in terms of any FFP limits etc as the club may be required to pay it back to the owner or their estate.

I think the situation with some clubs is that the owners have funded the club by way of loans or have taken out loans on something else such as the stadium which is fine provided the club's income can service the repayments. But the whole point of FFP matching income to debt is that it means the club is more likely to be able to service their debt based on their current income. If the income situation changes for example because of covid or because of relegation then it means the whole thing needs to be rebalanced to cope with the changes.

But for me there is no reason why income which is not a loan and doesn't need to be paid back should be restricted in any way really.

That’s just silly and comes across as sour grapes. City where Champions to qualify and Champions when they won it. They’ve done a ‘pure’ European Cup win by any metric.

It’s hardly watered down because they allow so many quality teams into the competition it’s harder to win. Fans of other clubs could argue that bar Liverpool and Koln the teams we beat to win it in 79 would be laughed at now.

Not sure if this is your most ridiculous post ever but it's in the top one.
