The Demise of Birmingham City

I think Cooper gave a hell of a lot, both emotionally and physically to the job, so, it wouldn't surprise me to see him wait at least 6 months to get back into the game
I think this would be his best bet anyway. By then he’ll either land the palace job or be able to pick up one of the more stable, glamorous championship jobs. A relegated team with parachute money or a solid team who didn’t quite get o er the line. Maybe a saints, Leeds etc… Even Norwich who are going nowhere at the moment but are a good club you could see cooper at.

Birmingham in their current predicament is an absolute no no for someone with credits in the bank. I agree with the wolves lad, I think Rowett will end up there.

He did similar when he left Swansea. Waited a few months, recharged his batteries (so to speak), then came to us.

Yep, I wouldn't imagine that there is a big rush.

If Palace or another prem job comes up then he might move quicker.

You'd also imagine that Rob Page will either fail to qualify for the Euros or underperform whilst there given hes a bit of a tit so the Wales job could come up too.

Like others have said, its likely a pretty big team won't come up from the championship so if he did go back down there then a parachute club would be more likely than Brum who are not an appealing option.

Waiting until the summer could see Moyes contract situation finalised, if Man U or Chelsea carey on their trajectory then that could provide opportunities. Not for those jobs directly but I imagine De Zerbi or even Tomas Frank for example would be in the conversation for those jobs which would open up the Brighton or Brentford role for example.

There's absolutely zero point of Cooper taking the Brum gig.

He's got Palace keen which might become available soon.
He'll have the Welsh FA wanting him soon.
Maybe England will fancy him as a sort of yes-man-who's-still-got-more-about-him-than-Southgate type appointment.
Burnley may decide he could do a job there like he did for us last year, grind out points to stay up.
Maybe Brentford panic.
If he waits 9 months then he'll be top of the list of potential replacements at whoever gets promoted.

Even if none of those come to fruition, he'll still have better teams in the Championship to choose from than Birmingham: Norwich and Watford are still in receipt of parachute payments and struggling in mid-table. WBA are about to complete their parachute payments and should be in good financial health. Bristol City have sold well recently and extended their ground.

Yeah managers have got to chose their jobs wisely. Once they’ve been around the block a bit those choices become more limited. Cooper still holds a strong hand and the next job is a big one. He’ll know that. No way will he choose Brum.

Yeah he's deffo best waiting off until the summer, he might get the choice of Palace, a relegated PL club or a parachute team that fail in the playoffs (Southampton/Leeds).

He can afford to be picky for abit and the man put that much into the job here that he deserves a good 2/3 month break minimum

Surely the EPL sacking season is still to come?

It cant only be Cooper and Heckinarse to get the chop this season. That would be an extreme outlier.

Ten Hag will do well to last the season. Could the xg master Frank come under pressure soon too?

Average tenure of a prem manager is about 2 years, but that is skewed a bit by Pep and Klopp being in their jobs for so long.

So who's overdue ?

First comment - I think Cooper did a brilliant job for us.
He was sacked because with him as manager we were in freefall and very likely to be in the middle of a relegation battle.
The safety net is of course the 3 teams that came up are not of EPL quality.
Why would anyone think (except the bottom 3) that he was the right appointment to get them/keep them out of trouble?

Hodgson (mutual consent/retirement), Frank, Ten Hag, Howe, Potch, Kompany are all 'at risk'. Wouldn't surprise me that much if Arteta gots bombed out fairly soon (next season).

Ten Haag, Howe and Thomas Frank all fired would delight me this season.

Because he basically had to welda load more players he didn't want into a team, and there was only so many more times he could perform a miracle with us.

Coops will be more suited to a stable club like Palace, he would go into a club like that and galvanise them imo

Wayne Rooney has a son that isn't under two and can talk?

Kai sounds as eloquent as his father. Meal time conversation must be a joy round their house.

Yes apparently the squawklet is 14 and the DM proudly broadcast to the world the other day that he has a girlfriend, how embarrassing
