The Demise of Birmingham City

Apparently it is the players fault they are struggling, seems they are not upto the task of playing. That will be the same players who had them in 5th when he took over and are now 15th. I think there is a common theme between why they are struggling now and its certainly not the players.

Oh dear! Blaming the players is the start of a slippery slope. Don't say he's lost the dressing room already.

Hang on... when Rooney was appointed Brum were 7th and on a decent run.
The only change I can see is that Rooney has come in as manager, replacing a guy who had Brum playing well.
Perhaps the problems are more about rooney than the players?

Joking aside people are being overly critical because it's Rooney.

That draw took them up 2 places from 17th to 15th, if they continue that march up the table of 2 places per gameweek they will be back where they started when he took over in only 6 games.

Maybe that's why he did so well at Derby, playing in front of "not many fans"

Birmingham City make me laugh. They remind of Forest sometimes when we’re in the championship. Sacking managers when they are in the playoffs and dropping like a stone. Chasing the supposed big names

I’ve never seen Birmingham city as a big club at all. They must have a big catchment area. I know they have Villa on the doorstep but even so.

Have they ever been a big club?

I just looked at their attendances maybe thinking as they are an inner city Birmingham club they’d maybe have had huge crowds in the 30’s or something but not really. A couple of sporadic one off peaks averaging 35k ish.

But other than average fairly low. Even their last spell in the premier league they averaged only 25k.

Crowds in the 80’s and 90’s were often in single figures as an average.

Aye... but they had some cracking players back in the day mind.
