Good news. Hopefully will help on last years success with the spirit and belief of the promotion season added.

So where does this leave reidy considering he was promoted from the 23s to coach the first team when Steven Reid left?

Personally I think we're a bit lean in the 1st team coaching department and there should be room for both (especially if SR is doing his MH stuff on the side) but then we don't know what organisational structure the club has. They may also feel there is room for more but on the other hand may feel the headcount can't grow too much...

Reidy will move on to chief fitness coach with a role in team building too held most nights from scruffy Murphy's

Really pleased about Reid returning. Will be Coopers pick which will hopefully empower Cooper more and supports stability and consistency. Last year it was well documented that Cooper was regularly working until late evening and you’d hope Reid and perhaps other additions will help him shed some of this work. You’d think the learning from last season-tactics, opposition assessments and player profiles etc would also help to reduce burden.

So, so happy with this. His work in mental health and how he treats people/players as humans will be very important for team spirit.

It's not easy for any person to put their heart on the sleeve and show empathy but from the interviews I've seen of him, he's perfect at it. Laid back, open and understanding. He's been through it himself. Approachable and he'll share his experiences.

He's clearly missed Forest and being interactive in the day to day ins and outs of a football club. He likes a challenge. Fantastic guy.

Aye BR, he seems to care passionately about the subject and I'm honestly thrilled that he's back here spreading the message

He played an underrated part in getting us promoted and I'm pleased that he's back involved with us AND that we're expanding our coaching staff.

This can only be good news

He took charge that game after Hughton was sacked. against Huddersfield away I think it was? And we utterly dominated them.

Great to see him back in the fold; WB Steven if by any small chance you're reading this!
That was the game that showed what the team could do when allowed to play in a positive manner.

Undeniably was the catalyst for such a successful season.

I wonder if he took a Sabbatical to recharge his own batteries?
It seemed strange, him leaving after what he helped the team achieve in that promotion season.
Whatever the reason was for the break, let’s hope his return gets the new season off to terrific start.

Great he’s back.

Looking at his twitter it looks like he has just finished a level 3 counselling studies course. I’m not sure how intensive that would be. Maybe he has been doing a few courses to assist his work and improving himself as well as the mental health work he has been doing. Obviously counselling and mental health go hand in hand.

Definitely a good guy to have around the place. Driven, forward thinking, determined to improve, but with an empathetic touch. A bit like Cooper as well. The club is in good hands. Remember when we had people like Joe Kinnear in charge!!

Still really chuffed about this

Steven's a great guy and I wouldn't mind betting was a bigger influence behind the scenes than was generally thought

Was really sad to see him go so I'm delighted he's returned

A very warm welcome home, Steven!

Even before Steve Cooper took over, there seemed to be a massive lift around the place whilst he took over as caretaker manager when Hughton got sacked.

Even though he only took charge for one game, it couldn't have been easy lifting the squad after they were completely stripped of confidence by Hughton. But he managed to get a tune out of them for that Huddersfield game prior to Cooper taking over and the rest is history.

Like you say, he's a top bloke and I get the feeling he'll be an extremely positive influence at the club again.

When Hughton was finally binned-off, the entire club got a massive, massive lift, and Steven Reid was a huge part of that.

He is clearly well respected and a great guy to have around the football club.
