I think he deserves his own thread after today. His courage to unshackle the players, play a different style and system might just be our turning point.

By all accounts he's really liked by the players and he seems to know what he's doing. I don't know how far we are down the line we are of hiring Cooper but I'd throw his hat into the ring to become permanent manager. He ticks virtually all of the CEOs boxes in terms of his philosophy based upon what I've seen today.

If another manager does come in then as another poster mentioned in another thread I'd advocate him taking a full time coaching job with the club, irrespective of what manager comes in over the years. That might possibly be what's happened with him leaving his Scotland role already. If so then very shrewd move by Dane already.

He gave a lot of credit to the new Billy-style analytical approach at the club.

It's good that after 10 years the club is finally catching up to the ways of the master

Honestly, watching the way we played today I wouldn’t rush into hiring someone. I’d let Steven Reid continue as he’s started. I actually enjoyed watching them today.

Disclaimer: as he’s a former Ireland man I cannot possibly claim to be impartial, but he set out the side in an unfamiliar way today, and they played an entirely different manner, but - crucially - showed so much more than recent Forest lineups have offered.

I thought Reid had indicated he didn’t want the job full time(I stand to be corrected).
However,he needs to be retained to help the new coach-it’s ‘all hands on deck’ for the rest of the season as far
as I’m concerned.

First time in 12 months I've enjoyed watching us. I'm exactly of the same opinion. Let him continue as caretaker and see where it goes. We won't look any worse as a club if we then hire at a later date and we wouldn't be sacking Reid. The right man could well be right in front of our noses and employed by us already

An interesting point of view, and I tend to agree.
I personally would give Reid the next 3 games up to the next international break and review the situation-as
you say,we could appoint later.
Note-Assuming Reid is agreeable.

I would say with Reid in charge there doesn't appear to be any need to rush to make an appointment

Although it does sound like Cooper is all but a certainty so you'd imagine he'll be in charge for the Millwall game

And, another BAME coach to add to Forest’s impressive record over recent years. I wonder if that’s been noticed by anyone, can only be a good thing to have such a reputation in today’s game.

Probably not by that idiot that wrote that article implying we had sacked Hughton prematurely because of his race

What needs to be asked is we had 29% possession to 71% possession, stats would suggest we were still defensive. Question is does a win change the way we perceived a match?
