Pre-season 2021/22

It's Baggio

Probably sums up what we know, some good players but a concerning lack of depth in certain areas.

Pleased to hear that Lolley looks sharp & great that Brennan chipped in again. My mate who went was also impressed with Colback & Gabriel.

If Lolley Johnson and Mighten click, we might be on to something. Hopefully, we can bring in quality over quantity this year, there's obviously a couple of positions where we are especially weak.

Bong comes on we concede two. No coincidence
Don't really know why we've played him to be honest if he's been told he's free to find a new club.

Still, it's another step closer to being match fit. All these fixtures are really.

grabban scored 6 goals last season, i'll wager he'll struggle to score 15 goals , much less 20.
Yeah he had a bad season by his own standards, doesn't make him non scoring.

Anyway just back from the game, overall it was a very pre season game, Lolley looked very good as did Colback, Brennan looked very sharp in the second half before being subbed.

Samba had an ok game, but made an amazing claim from a cross 1 handed before bowling it out to Brennan who ran the length of the pitch but couldn't make the final pass.

Mighten looked better in the second half, however he went down too easy and he should of scored.

Not much else to say, Carvalho made 1 good dinked pass to Colback at the end (had he scored it would have been a worldie). Oh and Grabban played the number 10/8 role very well, he got stuck in and played the ball out wide really well.

Not fussed by the result, the performance gives us something to build on, centrally we looked very good we just desperately need a winger for the left hand side as I'm concerned Mighten isn't quite ready.

3.5m for Johnson? f*** OFF

That defending for their goals??

I can see the conversation now:

Friday morning.
Hughton: We need a new Left Back, Dane. We only have Blackett and he’s just had surgery

Murphy: Hold on a mo Chris, you’ve got Bong on Premier League wages playing for the stiffs. Use what you’ve got first.

Saturday evening.
Murphy: OK Chris - I’m on it!

I'm pleased their goals happened in a way. Surely it leaves CH in absolutely no doubt that Bong isn't fit for purpose and the the recruitment team will have seen it too

Just purchased a couple of tickets for the Bumley game next weekend for me and my dad.

Why on earth aren't Forest doing these tickets electronically - print ticket at home or scanny barcode on phone job?
The only option for purchase is "post physical tickets to my home".
So glad we're living in the 20th century...

Oh one thing that made me laugh at the game yesterday, Mighten has got his hair in braids (or dreads) and the tips are dyed a yellow colour. Yesterday he had his hair in a man bun style so obviously we sang "he's got a pineapple on his head" and he was creasing with laughter so we need to turn that song into his song

As a mark of where we are; if he turns out to be as good as Jason Lee then we'll have done very well!

Beat league two, draw with league one. Solid platform to build from.
