First confirmed pre-season game for the Seniors is on a tour of Austria.

We playing WSG Swarovski Tirol who play in the Austrian Bundesliga and supposedly in the western part of the country.

I think the fixtures are next Thursday, but stand to be corrected.

Edit: oh dear. I'm getting too excited. I just realised that the pre-season refers to the Austrains! Doh.

Interesting that it's in Austria, could be a coincidence but the two managers that Dane Murphy has hired for Barnsley (Struber and Ismael) were from Austrian Bundesliga clubs.

As it stands - and this is unlikely to change before July - they’re going to have to quarantine for fourteen days when they arrive, unless either 1) the rules change (possible, of course), or 2) they can secure some sort of exemption.

I did think it was a bit odd, in the current climate and with the U.K. being at the highest -level of risk when it comes to those entering the EU, that the club would try and organise a preseason in Central Europe.

You might be able to travel, but as it stand you’ll be hit with the quarantine requirements.

Interesting that it's in Austria, could be a coincidence but the two managers that Dane Murphy has hired for Barnsley (Struber and Ismael) were from Austrian Bundesliga clubs.

It's probably an administrative choice: we'll be in Austria slightly before you (June 25 - July 4), so maybe they got a better price if they booked two clubs.

We'll be based in Stans, east of Innsbruck.

Sasa Kalajdzic, the Austrian striker who (currently) plays for the VfB, but is subject to strong interest from Milan (€25m worth of interest, apparently) was a €2m signing from Admira Wacker, two seasons ago.

So, yeah, there’s talent there.

I am sure our incoming CEO will know, considering he has raided the Austrian league over the past few years.

Valerien Ismael, Ritzmaier, Frieser, Sollbauer, Schmidt, Struber have all come from the Austrian League.

Olympiacos are going a few weeks after us by the looks of it, will probably be the same facilities that they use most years.

Shame they can't get our name right though!
