I'm in two minds as to whether keeping Watson is the best thing or not.

Pros - Experience, leader, fits in well, knows the systems
Cons - forces us to play deeper in home games or risk getting caught on the counter, stops us proactively getting a mobile ballplayer, probably wants a 2yr deal

Really hope we don't do that. He definitely waned as the season went on & was really poor for the majority of the games after the re-start. One year as we transition to a new (much needed) midfield, then fine but nothing longer.

Cons outweigh the pros for me, given its relative success, we 've no reason to do too much to the current approach, needs evolving though, starting with a mobility upgrade in Watsons position.

Watson already showed signs of crumbling physically end of this season, granted the schedule was crazy, but I can only see him fading physically from here on in. Quick turn round wont help. I think we've seen the best from the player, time to move on.

I think I agree.

I just hope whoever we identify is up for the job, as it is an important role to fill and will impact our ability to impose ourselves more effectively in home games.

I wonder if quite a few teams will be in Scotland/in the UK. As they obviously won't want to risk any new isolation rules being imposed whilst away.

Clever public image, I bet she's a right snorter when she gets going. The missus is convinced she wears a wig, although her hairdresser was on 5 live several weeks ago saying she'd asked for advice and titavated it herself. It looks a bit solid to me.
