Pre-season 2020/21

Players only report back on the 17th. About 4 weeks before the first game. Giving them some real time to switch off mentally/physically.

Whereas Coventry have been back a few weeks, Stoke a week ago and Derby return today.

This really is going to be a tough season.
Hardly any time to get over the hammer-blow of getting so close to the play-offs.
Hardly any time to recover from the number of games played in a couple of weeks when last season resumed.
No fans allowed in the grounds when it all starts again.
Who,in their right mind, would want to be a professional footballer in the Championship?

It's all about mid-table...

Supposedly First Round of Carabao Cup to be played before the league starts on 12 September.

Just to add Carabao fixtures involving Championship teams could be played by month end due to the internationals.

Can't we just cancel the domestic season and go straight to the Euros?

I wish they’d cancelled last season and gone straight to the play offs like the lower leagues.

Hang on, with a completely f**ked up season just ended, and another beginning late, why the f*** are we going to have disruption of international fixtures?
It's bloody stupid...

Internationals are an absolute waste of time in this 'new normal'

Also, the Champions league qualification rounds start tonight and tomorrow its the quarter finals.

.. Can we do the play offs now so we can get the disappointment out of the way early?

Shelvey, Cash and Johnson are in Turkey.

Yuri went back to Portugal. Toby and Tiago probably too.

Brice and Nuno back to France.

Joao went to Sardinia.

How will quarantine effect things ?

Because I am sure all champ clubs are basically back training already. Stoke are in Northern Ireland already.

Something that people aren't considering (talking about those on twitter getting upset about people going to 'quarantine' countries.) Is that they get tested. If they test negative... I imagine they can train. Joe Public can't just get a test as easy (rightly or wrongly) so quarantine is seen as imperative.

Spot on. The club would have given the players certain rules to follow but like you say they will have their tests anyway so it won't effect the football.

Obviously wherever you are , just don't be a dickhead. Just live within the new criteria really that we have for 5/6 months.

I did wonder that too. Right sort of club. Looking around the area. I honestly think how things have played out, there is no coming back for him so the earlier the move the better for everybody.

Well, radja nainggolan has finished his loan so there's an opening.

It does seem his time here is up, especially if the talk of his lack lustre attitude is correct.

Fixtures are released on 21 August

Sky Bet EFL

As previously advised, League competition in the Sky Bet EFL will kick-off on Saturday 12 September, while the regular seasons in the Sky Bet Championship, League One and League Two will conclude on 8/9 May 2021.

Due to the unprecedented challenges facing the fixture calendar as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and starting six weeks later than usual, the Sky Bet EFL Championship will feature 13 midweek match rounds whilst League One and League Two will have 11 respectively throughout season 2020/21.

The season will culminate in the Sky Bet Play-Off Finals taking place at Wembley Stadium over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend 29-31 May 2021.

The 2020/21 Sky Bet EFL fixture schedule will also be released on Friday 21 August at 9am.

I've weighed in for a season card for this season. Have I missed any announcements as to what the plan is?
