Our "Rivals" trying something with their Away kit, not sure if I like it or not but its definitely unique and likely to grace the wfcg

Reminds me of the Lyon kit from a few years ago. Love it Southampton, ya rats

Morpeth

I quite like it.

I think we need a derogatory name for them as they are our new rivals. Given how inoffensive ‘florist’ and ‘red dog’ are I was thinking maybe ‘Southpantston’ or the ‘Stripey Sinners’ Something super crap.
How about The Floppies because they can’t get their hamptons north - sufficiently crap?

Is God Bummers too harsh?

Is God Bummers too harsh?

Seems fair. But as it’s quite well thought out and insulting it doesn’t fit the ‘crap’ brief.

Even Taints is a bit too clever

Something not even vaguely insulting to compare to ‘Red dogs’ is what we’re looking for

Solent dolphinlovers maybe (especially crap as, like dogs, everyone loves dolphins)

Obviously they are a bunch of pony fiddling bastards, but that’s a nice kit to be fair!

Leather trousers is a bold statement in this day and age but if anyone is going to do it, it's the Italians. What the f*** do I know about fashion.

They do and Saints, in a burst of originality, call Pompey 'Scummers' in response.

It's hilarious down here.

Not true mate.

Pompey refer to Saints as 'Scummers' - a theory goes that Portsmouth look down on Southampton as scum because that is a naval term for merchant seamen, as scum floating on the water. Southampton being a commercial port whereas Portsmouth is Royal Navy.

Saints refer to Pompey as 'Skates' - again a derogatory term with a theory goes that when Portsmouth (Royal Navy) sailors who were at sea for months on end would often use the mouth of skate fish to relieve their sexual frustrations. According to local myth, Portsmouth women would fend off the advances of sailors with the phrase 'I ain't no skate-bait, mate.'
