Looks like a Nespresso coffee capsule design.

(Tell me you're middle class without telling me your middle class)
Careful, Nespresso is bordering on almost a religion here, everyone seems to have one.

Not true mate.

Pompey refer to Saints as 'Scummers' - a theory goes that Portsmouth look down on Southampton as scum because that is a naval term for merchant seamen, as scum floating on the water. Southampton being a commercial port whereas Portsmouth is Royal Navy.

Saints refer to Pompey as 'Skates' - again a derogatory term with a theory goes that when Portsmouth (Royal Navy) sailors who were at sea for months on end would often use the mouth of skate fish to relieve their sexual frustrations. According to local myth, Portsmouth women would fend off the advances of sailors with the phrase 'I ain't no skate-bait, mate.'
The 'Skaters' slur is a good one but it doesn't really work as most of the sailors in Portsmouth aren't Pompey fans (I realise that logic plays no part in these things but still...).

I've never heard it used and have lived down here for nearly 20 years. That said I actively avoid going near either place on match days between them so will speak to a few of the old boys to see is they have heard/used it...

...Erik! What say you?

I had no idea Cazoo are anything but a British brand spending vast amounts on advertising their existence and now running into trouble because of the state of the car market.

They must actually be thriving having a stake in the rich German market.

They have a great logo, it's up there with Amazon for cleverness.

how is that machine, was thinking of buying

Buy a half decent coffee machine instead. I picked up this

Brought it off Facebook marketplace for £100 a few months ago, it makes fantastic espresso. I have had a few of the pod machines and this blows them all out of the water.

At the risk of taking this a little bit 'MGW thread' I'd recommend doing what Djed said. We've got a decent coffee machine and it's worth it. Cheaper than 30p a cup in the long run. More like 9-12p depending on beans.

Coffee is just a drink to me, hardly a gourmet experience. A cafetiere and decent supermarket coffee is quite adequate.

Bit of a philistine I suppose.

I had a chat with some Saints fans at work today. They confirmed the 'Scummers' and 'Skates' tags and the supposed background .... The older season ticket holders though who have been Saints fans for more than 5 minutes also recall that it wasn't so long ago that that they called Pompey fans scummers ... so the skates are also scummers and the scummers are scummers... all gets bloody confusing!

Best stick to New Kits 22/23 and supporting the mighty Garribaldi.

I spoke to a submariner today (the closest thing I have to a sailor at hand) and he confirmed that sailors are called skaters. He didn't know straight away what it meant but once I had reminded him we had an 'interesting' conversation about port holes and golden rivets.

I think it best to stick to football shirts as well.

I had my computer system fixed in the shop many years ago and the chap doing the IT stuff learned it all whilst working in a nuclear submarine. Plus he turned out to be a Forest fan, so we had a very pleasant long chat. After he had fixed my problem, of course.
