So can we kill off any rumours originating from that stupid exforest employee twitter account?

You can easily slag off the club and say it's shambolic but fair play to them for correcting their mistake. I assure you there is very few clubs that would have an interest in rectifying mistakes. It's a good trait.
So are we in agreement then that appointing Ross Wilson was a mistake? That seems to be what the club are saying with this latest news.

Agreed. Only down side is that bringing him back as a consultant means we'll likely be paying him at least double what we were before...

I think a large percentage of us on here saw how rash the club was acting last year after a few defeats, judging Awoniyi on only a few games the perfect example.

It's something which EM, and more-so his right-hand men, need to start curbing big time if they want us to be successful. Had we retained a more stable recruitment setup last then we could have landed far better quality than Shelvey & Wood for the money we spent in Jan, and if we're to build properly we can't keep having recruitment inconsistency.

As some of us have been saying since the Vrentzos days, leave the recruitment and football to the people who have played and worked the trade for most of their careers.

In that same January, we signed Danilo who is arguably one of our biggest appreciating assets. That doesn’t fit your narrative at all, because it wasn’t a lucky punt; it was part of a continuing strategy of recruiting South American players.

Jonjo Shelvey was a Giraldi suggestion who was the ‘football man’ man brought in to run recruitment. And it made perfect sense on paper!

I get what you’re saying but the last 2 seasons have given us plenty evidence that Mariankis does, in fact, hire people and backs them to do their job. We are in a short term business, and had we not signed the likes of Boly/Aurier/Kouyate (ostensibly ‘Mariankis’ signings) we would have been woefully short last season.

A blended approach is always the sensible one. And the fact that the club have recognised their mistake and course corrected (again!) suggests they learn.
